What size snowblower for B7510?

I'm thinking of picking up a 3pt snowblower before snow flies. I pushed all last year and while it works well, it's time consuming because I like a perfectly smooth driveway (snow pack) and don't want ridges in it from the bucket.

I get drifted in pretty good during storms and want to make it simple for my wife to use if I'm not around (I go snowmobiling out west once a year for a week) and I figure the blower is the easiest for her as she can make two passes and clear the way out to the main road.

Should I go with a 50" blower, or step up to a 60? Any opinions would be welcomed.

I've been looking at them on and off for my B7610. Tractor width at the rear of my machine is 50"; so 50" would be too small...no room to maneuver.

On the other hand, first pass with a 60" blower could be a challenge with some of the snowfalls we get here. On one driveway I have to fight my way in from a busy roadway, so can't afford to get bogged. Subsequent passes would probably be OK with a partial bite.

I had pretty much settled on the 54" Pronovost Puma as being ideal, but then got a quote of well over $2K for the unit. Decided I didn't need one that bad. Maybe you can do better in Canada.

Just bought a 51" meteor for my BX. The weight of the unit was a consideration. Without a FEL it made the front end unsteerable.

A 60" on a unit like yours would be fine.

I'd say 54 would be ideal. Moving big snow takes a ton of HP. I would have to slow down with my TC18 (14 PTO) and a 48" blower in big or heavy storms. with my New B3030 I went with the front mount 62" (just put it on this evening to test it out in fact).

Which brings up a good point, a good starting point is to reference what's available from the OEM for a front mount (in terms of width).

If I needed one for my B7800 I would buy a 60" or that 54" Pronovost Puma mentioned earlier.

For a B7510 I would go with a 48" blower. I feel smaller sizes make finesse work easier -like when I almost pulled my deck and steps apart with my 60" FEL bucket.

I thought bigger was better so I got the 60" bucket over the 54" bucket and the 72" rear blade over the 60" rear blade. I wish I had bought the smaller size in both.

Maybe you can get a good price on a Buhler? Aren't they made in Manitoba?

I'm waiting to hear what kind of deal I can get on them. They're actually made here, but the prices seem to be higher than anywhere else.

I'll see what model the dealer sells. Apparently they've sold quite a few already this year and don't have any in stock.

Apparently cost is $2200 dollars from the dealer close to me. The other dealer I got my tractor from sells them for 1850.

OUCH!!! He is either a bad liar or buys his stock at at terrible price. Either way he sounds like bad news to me.
Other tha the fact that you don't like big snow piles did the loader/rear blade work well for snow? THere is a used 72" blade just down the road from me at a decent price. I'm considering it for my 7510.

I'd go with a 60". It'll cover your tracks better than a 54" which only gives you 2" on either side. Power shouldn't be a problem. If it's heavy and wet, take small bites and chew before swallowing on the first past. Basically, move into the snow (slowly) a foot or two then move out a couple inches and stop for 1-2 sec until the chute clears, rince and repeat until the first pass is done. I worked through 2-1/2 feet with a 42" blower on a WheelHorse that way once. Slow, but it works. And realistically a 50" or 54" blower isn't going to go any easier through heavy wet stuff anyway. Of course the best policy is not to let the snow build up to the point where you can't go through it easily!

Easygo, I've never used the blade with snow as I didn't get it until spring. I'll probably just put the ballast box on for snow removal and use the bucket unless I can find a decent price on a blower.

I guess if using the blade I could push snow going both ways. That way I could make a narrow driveable path first, and than I'd just see-saw back and forth at an angle between the sides, to make it wider. Pushing with the FEL going forward and with the blade in reverse. It's bound to make the process of clearing go faster. On TBN I have read a few older posts that mention using the back blade and I thought I'd ask.
In your neck of the woods there is probably a lot more snow then here. So. Good luck with the blower.

I just bought a 2007 b7510 with FEL and have been hunting around for a snowblower. As an alternative, I may work with a welder friend to "cut down" a bigger (it's 72 in) blower I have. The Kubota manual isn't really clear on what is appropriate. It says a maximum "digging depth" of 60 inches and 400 pounds. I assume they mean a maximum cutting width of 60 inches. Also, the manual says a "subframe" is required for a snowblower...anyone know what this is? Thanks

The subframe is used for the 'front mount' blower. I assume you are talking about a rear 3pth blower for your B7510. The digging depth is likely referring to a back hoe. The reference to a subframe may also be referring to the back hoe

Thanks. That makes sense (re: the subframe). There is a separate section for back hoes. Maybe they made a mistake (?) in the manual and meant to have cutting width for snowblowers. I think 60inches may be a reasonable maximum snowblower width for a tractor this size.

The B7510 is rated at 15-16 hp on the PTO. My older B1700 was rated at 13 PTO HP and had no difficulty running a 54 inch Agro-Trend rear mount snow blower. A 60 inch on a B7510 sounds about right.

I have a 60" Agrotrend on my Kubota B7800 (22HP at PTO) and it throws the snow far! the B7510 should do just fine.

I just spent 3 hours and 45 minutes blowing 18+" of snow in our driveway and my neighbour's place. I am happy I have a tractor with 15" of ground clearance, 4WD and big chains on all 4 wheels.
