I'm getting an L45 TLB and would like to get a trailer that I can haul it and maybe an attachment or two. Maybe the machine and my 6' box scraper, or maybe my machine and 84" rear blade. Is it illegal to put something on a trailer if it hangs over the sides as long as it is still less then 8' across. What are you guys using to haul?
I've been looking online at a 14k deckover bumper pull, or maybe a 14k equipment hauler but most of these I see are only 83" wide.

I think you are on the right track with a 14k trailer. Get brakes on both axles. Something you may also want to consider are LED lights. LED lights are more reliable and draw less amperage. If you are worried about your blade hanging over angle it so it won't. I am not that big of a fan of a deck over unless you need a trailer that wide because of the higher center of gravity. Something like this but longer should do the job. It is 80" wide, your blade set straight would only hang over 2" and would not be out past the fenders so I think you would be okay.

I went through the same thing for a M59 which is not that much different than an L45. Definitely a 14K trailer with brakes on both axles and frame members at 16" on center under the deck. In my case I got a 22' trailer but 24' would have been better - if carrying any attachments it can be hard to get the lowered backhoe on the deck. I did not get the deckover as I did not want the extra height, but I did get removable rails. That way 84" attachments can be on the deck with the rails removed, or one can have the rails to help hold cargo. If getting a new trailer be sure to adjust the brakes; mine were almost useless on the new trailer until I adjusted them.

Thanks, I stopped at the Kubota dealer tonight and took a bunch of measurements, and I think I will be able to get by with a 20', 14k equipment trailer. The L45 overall is about 20' 2" with the boom up in carry position. Looks like my offset mower shouldn't hang over any further then the trailer fenders. I think the regular equipment trailer will work out better then the deckover (thanks again for the input). From the loader bucket to the front tire is 54 inches which will be fine for the tiller, box scraper, or the rear blade should just barely fit. That's a nice trailer on that link you sent, wish I could find something like that around here, especially at that price.

If you think you will be able to "get away" with 20', then you need 22' or 24'. You need the extra room for both the unexpected and the ability to adjust the load to balance the tongue weight properly. Don't go short or you will hate life for a long time...until you upgrade. For what you are towing, 14k would be wise.

My neighbor has a 18-ft Big Tex Trailer with the reinforced ramps that he uses for his L-35 TBL. With nothing else to carry, it works fine for him. You probably know about the DOT paperwork for stuff over 10-tons. Here is a pic of the trailer he loaned me to move my BX25.

I was originally thinking of going with a 22' but didn't want to take up any more space in the yard then necessary. You bring up a good point about the ability to shift the load, I might have to reconsider on the 20'.
I'm not familiar with the DOT stuff, is this for 20,000 total weight or trailer weight? It probably changes from state to state right?

Space in the yard? By the time you put a 20' trailer there, a 22 or 24 wouldn't have really mattered.

Here is a similar sized tractor on a 22' trailer... I also recommend going a bit longer than 20'.

Trailer manufacturers vary by region here are some other trailer manufacturers you may want to check into:

Equipment Trailers, Gooseneck Trailers, Car Trailers For Sale
PJ Trailers Dump, Gooseneck, Tilt, Equipment, ATV, & Utility Trailers
Texas trailer manufacturer of open flatbed utility, goosenecks, landscape, auto haulers, and equipment trailers to fit any need!

If they are not local you and the price is right you could have it shipped to you.

I would not rule out a good used one.
