What spray lube do you like?

I have been using Lubriplate Chain and Cable lube for many years now.

PB Blaster seemed to change the formula years ago, and I have not had much luck with it since. It used to sizzle after you sprayed it. That's no longer the case.

I have tried many penetrating oils, and some do better at some things than others.

To protect surfaces, I like Fluid film or Corrosion Free. Wool Wax would be similar, but I've never tried it. These products stick around after you spray them and are great from a protection standpoint. My truck has been sprayed with Corrosion Free for 7 years. The underneath it looks the same as the day I purchased it, and there is plenty of salt here in the winter.

For freeing rusted parts, Sea Foam Deep Creep works well and works better with some heat. Schaeffer's Penetro 90 has also worked well. In my limited use of it, Liquid Wrench seemed like a good product, as did Texas Refinery Corporation Super-EEZ penetrating oil.

The worst penetrating oil I have ever used is regular WD40. Ballistol works so much better as a jack of all trades penetrating oil, cleaner, and lubricant.

You have to give WD-40 some credit, though.

Tons of that inferior product are still being sold, for some reason. Bad habits are hard to get away from, I guess.

Maybe because of the price. At $20+ the good lubes are a bit more expensive.

I use the original for parts cleaning and contact type for drying my trailer plug.

For lube - motorcycle chain spray lube. For cleaning - WD40.

I use Fluid Film for lubrication. I use WD 40 to remove rust or to free up rusted things.
I have to agree... Fluid Film for lubrication and WD40 for a multiple of uses ie: key switch lube, rust removal, glue removal, etc. Somewhere out there there's a list of 101 things to do with WD40. But fluid film has been the best for general lubrication to date!

Tri-Flow.

My draft inducer fan gummed up and stopped working after about 5-7 years on my furnace. Talked to HVAC installer and he said they had alot of problems with that motor and a new one was $300 and it wasn't compatible with control board and would need a new $300 controller. I said that's ridiculous. I could tell it was just gummed up not bad bearing or anything. I had a can of Tri-flow my dad had given me about 15 years prior. Needless to say, I'm still running furnace on same motor 13-15 years later. Made a believer out of me. I use it everywhere I used to use WD40 and it is 100 times better. I think it's like a bike chain lubricant and leaves a Teflon coating. Surprised the bike guys earlier didn't mention it.

PB blaster makes a product like Fluid Film. Supposed to last longer. I'm going to try it this fall as an undercoat protectant.

I like Kroil for a penetrating oil also, but PB blaster works well also, but I think Kroil works better.

Use to swear by Kroil but they have totally out priced it. Have switched over to PB Blaster. Works great
