What TBN use to be like

/ What TBN use to be like #182
Take a look at this thread for an example showing unregistered people posting: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/news-feedback/7373-mohammed-censors.html

Aaron Z

Are they unregistered? Or was their registration information lost?

Take post #40, looking at the following posts it was made by a guy named "Neilly". We know this because the several post following address "Neilly" personally and address his specific comments in post #40, yet he did not have a signature saying his name in the post. That leads me to believe that he was a registered member, who had his name where "Anonymous" is now, somehow over the years his login info was lost and replaced with "Anonymous"

But then in line #7 of his post it talks about registering. More confused than ever lol

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who likes to read some of the very old threads. One of these days, I might even bump one just for the heck of it.

Urban Dictionary: necroposting

Ya, I was surprised to see that someone dug that up. Actually brought back some memories of members no longer here. Many of them were very active back in the day.

here's an interesting search, search our illustrious moderators name and look where he either chooses to or has to get involved.
Lots of recurring questions about what is appropriate and what isn't.
Be curious to see if the moderation approach has changed over the years.
Be civil. You may have a rawhide tough skin but not everyone does.
Nor do we want a prissy repartee of wusses either.

As long as the antagonistic, my way or the highway approach in friendly politics stays there, like Los Vegas...
I'm happy. If I go in there and get upset, that's my problem.
I've mentioned before the all American tradition of "doing the dozens", and while at times that can be marvelously funny,
often the barbs aren't worth it in the long run. Remember, what we write here lasts forever...

Uh, St. Peter, what seems to be the problem.
Well..... it's about those nasty posts you made on TBN:D

Lastly, I really feel I have made some friends here. Maybe not "inner circle" friends, but it's good to stretch out and see and hear the world.

Actually brought back some memories of members no longer here. Many of them were very active back in the day.

Talking about reading old threads also reminded me of members who have passed away, where some have "RIP" or "Rest in Peace" below their member status and some do not. Reading the words of someone who is deceased is kind of strange.

Here are a few members (RIP) that I was able to find...

Ya, I wonder sometimes who is here from back then. You, Dan, Bird, Me, RAT, Harv. I know RAT check in now and then. Harv is out there, we email now and then. Mark Chalkey has not been around in a long time.

I think you are right Dan. Believe I joined in 1999 and was a guest for about a year before that. Some don't know that there was a server melt down long ago that lost some of the original data like "Join Date". You will find that no one was here before 2000 in the current records. Time does fly.

You would think someone would invent a big cup for the tractor.....:laughing::laughing:

For the "newbies" :D:D:D, Mark had this long running thread about a cup for the tractor.

Seems like he had a really good thread on tractor tires as well. My tires are 13 years old now and while the rear tires are in ok shape the front tires leak and will need replacement in a few years. I look at the tires and think of Mark's Tire Talk.:laughing::laughing: Mark's Tire Talk was ALONG time ago! :D:D:D

:laughing::laughing: Should those of us who have been here for a spell, :D:D:D, get a special icon under our name? A Ol' TBN Geezer icon? :D:D:D

Later,
Dan
