Is your inclination to perform your own service and repairs, rather than relying on a dealer?

I will take care of most of the service of the tractor myself.

I like that the Mahindra doesn't have a DPF filter. The Branson has the epto for light PTO work and that is nice. Seems no one makes a perfect tractor. Always a trade off.

Mahindra's DPF alternative emission control equipment is as complex as others, but it is true Mahindra has no DPF on some Mahindra-built models.

As Mahindra 2600 series is made by TYM in Korea, painted Mahindra colors, I would question dealer very closely on this model. I speculate TYM/Mahindra 2600 series has DPF.

If you want a TYM shop Rural King's new TYM tractors. TYM is probably cheaper from Rural King.

I have DPF on my 2013 Kubota L3560. It has been trouble free. I regenerate once every sixty engine hours for sixteen minutes @ 2,200 rpm. Diesel cost $1.

Keep your weight in mind. It is easy to get a 40 hp tractor with a loader and rotary mower that tips the scales at 6000lbs. add that to the weight of the trailer and you will need a 10000lb trailer and a pretty stout truck. This is not a killer but more capacity cost more money.

Well I have a 10 acres with well drained soil. I also will be transporting my tractor 150 miles to do work at my deer camp. I would like to keep the price under 30K. Would like to be able to lift a standard 800-900 bale of hay with it from time to time. Will be used for Bush hogging, plowing, Lifting pallets of fertilizer and seed. Moving dirt and gravel. etc.

What price do you want to keep under $30K?
Tractor?
Tractor and rotary cutter? and plow? and pallet forks? and trailer? and chains and insurance?

What about a truck to haul it all?

Already have a truck. Would love to have it under 30k for all. The 2638 does not have a DPF filter I've already checked that out. I really like the John Deere 4044r but it's over my budget. I was priced a 2538 Mahindra with a heavy duty 5 ft rotary cutter, Heavy pallet forks, and 6 ft disc in the 25k range.

I think Kioti is made entirely by Kioti too FYI.

Some information says that Kubota purchases major castings from Kioti's parent company foundry. Where Kioti also sources its castings of course. Things like Engine and transmission castings I think. I'm not sure if they source from others or all from there. But Kubota is one of Daedong's (sp?) major customers. My information is second hand but I have seen some evidence of this.

I'd be interested to know if there is any kind of Kioti-Kubota connection. From my initial research I've found no evidence of this.

Kioti's are Korean Daedong's, and best I can tell Daedong does make the entire tractor, just like Kubota and Yanmar do in Japan. Kubota was founded in 1890, Yanmar in 1912, and Daedong in 1947.

I read it here somewhere from another member that Kubota were customers of Daedong. But it may simply be speculation of for what but he felt it might be engine blocks or some such. Does Kubota own an engine block foundry? Or if not who casts their stuff? That might shed some light to look that way and eliminate this rumor. Otherwise its simply rumor and doesn't mean a thing. Interesting speculation though. Wouldn't matter to me one way or another. Im sure not every manufacturer makes 100% of its parts. But some do a lot more in house than others.
