What to do with a short PTO

I think this is what I read, it can add some length but I have no idea. They're also expensive https://tractorptolink.com/product-category/compact/
I don't see much use for those things, especially for a CAT 0/1 implement and doubley so for $600. That solves a problem that doesn't exist and I'm not sure how you think it would help yours as I don't think it adds any significant length to a shaft.

Any possibility the owner could have had a slip clutch on this PTO shaft, would that explain the length?

They make extensions for your pto shaft . They will add about 6 inches , How short is the shaft you have,

TSC shafts are grossly over priced compared to online.

I agree with PaulHarvey, the TSC is over priced. I bought a complete shaft from Vevor with a slip clutch for $140. Not sure of the quality but looked as solid as what TSC has. Rural king is a little less expensive than TSC if you have one of those.

That PTO link system is just to make it easier to connect your shaft to the PTO.

While some of the options mentioned above may work, you seem like your pretty new to the PTO shaft world. I would just buy the complete shaft, watch some youtube videos on how to measure and cut and be done with it.

Incidentally TSC prices have gone crazy as of late. Rusoleum spray paint....$14 a can.
Same exact can at Lowes....$8.50. The local ones have shrunk the tractor parts sections and shelves have more & more bare spots & higher & higher prices, kinda like Central Tractor did before they closed down. I wonder if it's time for another re-set....Central Tractor > Farm & Family > TSC.....close it, rename it, open back up and start fresh? I miss back in the day when Central Tractor had the big book of new & used tractor parts. Got a used bull gear for my IH330 around 1991, pretty reasonable price. Shipped right to the local store.

I agree TSC's prices are too high compared to our other farm supply store, Rural King. I like TSC but find myself buying less and less there due to price.

Remember the old Quality Farm & Fleet? Anyone remember those from your area?
