What to know!?

Not to be political, but this sums it up.

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.
Donald Rumsfeld

Man #1 (emphatically sure of himself):
I don't think, I know.

Man #2 :
I don't think you know, either.

Knowledge is a funny thing.

In my line of work, there are some people with very specific knowledge about their particular cog in the machine. They tend to work almost exclusively with that thing.

Then, there are people who don't have that kind of specific knowledge, but have a better understanding of how all the cogs fit together and understand the ripple effects of various cogs having problems.

It's not that either of them has more knowledge than the other, and one is not more valuable than another. They each have their own strengths, which come into play in different situations.

Knowledge is not necessarily learning.

Learning implies a change in behavior.

Yes, the most valuable knowledge is knowing, or suspecting, that you dont know, and using informed networking behavior to get to the right understanding.

"understanding" as a word, is as debatable as the word "knowledge"....
I think we use "knowledge" for something we not necessary can back up....but we can't claim "understanding" unless we can back it up....little simplified....one have to under stand "force" and "area" before on can understand "pressure" (pressure=force/area), and one have to understand "distance" before one can understand "area" (area=distance x distance).....

or to understand what pressure is, we need to know what vacuum is....
