I need to purchase an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) height toilet,,

luckily, the majority are that height now (16.5 inches to the bowl)

We have a well, so the amount of water used does not matter,

The problem is which one to buy??

TOTO is highly touted as the best, but, my attempt to purchase one resulted in an expected November delivery,,,

So, have you purchased a toilet that flushes correctly,
and does not cost an arm and a leg??

We have the American Standard Cadet chair height. We are also on well water, running about 40 to 60 psi. They work very well. They are a 2 piece toilet.

I had picked up a "glacier bay" store brand dual flush from Home Depot in a quick fix situation about 2 years ago. It has worked better and has a better finish than our other Kohler toilet. I like it enough that 2 more of them will be going in the new home we are building.

I have a one piece Kohler and I wouldn't buy another one. American Standard or Elgin will be my next one.

What is the point in the "ADA" height toilets, it makes no sense to me to have it so close to the floor. Only reason I can think of is so you can use a
commode over it, is that the reason? If it is not everyone that is elderly or handicapped uses a commode, they install them and for a lot of people they are to low and hard to get on and off of..

I don't understand your statement atsah. A "standard" height toilet is 14-15", a Comfort height is 16 1/2" and and ADA toilet 17-19".
