What tools could you not live without?

A large sized filter wrench. I had to go buy one last time I changed the oil because the old screwdriver through the filter trick didn't work.

Really, a set of wrenches, sockets, grease gun, large cresent wrench, and you should be good to go.

One thing I've found VERY useful that is a tool and I use with my tractor (but not for maintenance) is a 6' - 17lb pry bar that I use to hook up my 3 point implements. It is SO much easier than trying to lift or push something into place by hand.

For tractor/vehicle maintenance: 5hp Devilbis air compressor.
For everything else: 18V Dewalt cordless drill / sawzall / circular saw kit & 3 batteries.

I keep my gease gun and air compressor in the shop, so they wouldn't count as tools that I keep on my tractor.

On the tractor I like to have a hammer to help persuade implements on. I also like to have a few open end wrenches to tighten up my linkage.

For emergancies while operating, I have an adjustable wrench, adjustable plyers, philips screwdriver and a flat screwdriver. I also keep extra pins and sheer bolts and a roll of toilet paper.

Anther important thing to keep with you is a small icechest. Mine is bolted onto my fender and I keep water or some other drinks in it.

On my steering wheel I have an old casio waterproof watch. No other use for it, but it's real handy on the spokes of the steering wheel.

Add a broad brimmed hat to the list and you have the tools I can't live without. Not one, but not allot either.

A set of the prismatic jaw Vise Grips. The V shaped jaw of the 10LW will hold nuts from 9/16 to about 2" well enuf for you to stand on the handle. It clamps well on rounds without marring. Use it as a hammer in a pinch. Tip for smaller nuts. Cuts wire. Clamp one to a 1" hex on the tractor and forget it til you need it.

I'm taking notes here... pry bar... grease gun... toilet paper ( good one)... I can see I'm going to need a bigger tool box.

There was a post not too long ago about "What do you carry in your Tool Box" or something that...Anybody remember that one? Anyway, you couldn't believe what some of these jokers keep in their tool box(es) mounted on the tractor. Quite entertaining and informative....worth a search.

Rob,
The only thing I remember about the thread was the sanitary pads that were kept in the tool box to stop the bleeding in case of a serious injury. For some reason that stood out.
