What type of gas motor mf 165?

How do you tell the difference between a perkins gas and continentel engine
on a mf 165. Also how can you clean the hydraulic filter when there is no acess port and the left side plate is where the auxilery hydraulics is hooked to so you can't get to the filter as described in the manual.

I could tell by looking, but I can't tell you really how to tell if that makes any sense? Look at the online parts books and see if you can tell the differences in parts like the water pump, distributor and such. If there's no tag on it of course.
You may be able to take the right side cover off to get to the filter?

There's also a filter just in front of the rad, near the top right hand corner. Its a small washable filter.Not sure if your's will have it as it's on Multi-power tractors.As for the internal filter in the trans,I think its a big job to do,I had to pull the seat and the rock shaft cover,in order to access the filter screen. Its a washable screen also. Mines a MF 175 but pretty sure the MF 165 is the same.Larry
