What type of gun is this?

Well here there are thousands of shots most weekends, everyone has a range on their property and the are several informal public shooting spots off the old haul roads. Yet amazingly no one dies or is shot, we save that for the trained hunters that will show up this weekend.

I could never live in place with enough people and crime to require such a system.
We're right on the border between town and county. We have several outdoor shooting ranges within miles of us(several indoor as well, but those are quiet), as well as a lot of people that shoot on their own property. That type of shooting is heard quit often evenings and weekends. I'm fairly certain the Shot Spotter can be mapped to include those facilities/properties where recreational and instructional shooting occurs, however, that type of outdoor shooting is not allowed inside of city limits. The Shot Spotter is in the city. Hope that clears some things up for you.

Yep. I understand. I lived inside the city limits for about 34 years. Now just outside of town now in a quiet, old, diverse neighborhood in the county. Most folks think it's in the city. It's not. Get along fine with all the neighbors (even the squirrelly one now). Just the right mix of young and old people.

:ROFLMAO: Just realized I was in the young camp when we got here and now am in the old camp. Get off my lawn! :ROFLMAO:

I only have a couple of neighbors, one with 1000+ acres split north and south of me, runs Angus, another with 180 across the street and the one close on 2 .5 that are bunch of Carnies but we have an understanding. Most of the land around me is National Forest or mine property just few thousand acres of woods. Call the cops and they'll try to figure which county's deputies should respond, one of 3 counties.

The gun I used in high school, on the shooting team, was a Mossberg 46B, with the peep sight.
The coach was always saying to me to fire ALL the rounds. Cause all he ever saw was one hole in the target. :)

I have an old Mossberg 22 bolt gun too with rear peep, and an assortment of flip up front sights. I like the ring.

That thing is a tack driver. Shooting at a paper plate at 30 yards where I can't even see the 1/2" circle I sharpie on the plate.....and it does as good as my scoped heavy barrel 22.

Can't really see a "point of aim"....just aim for the center of paper plate.

After all 7 shots....a quarter could cover them all and that's just with cheap ammo.

I'll have to get in the safe tomorrow to see what model it is cause I honestly don't know. Gave some guy $75 for it about 10 years ago

The one I always have to laugh at, is when the press says the arrested person had 500 rounds of ammo. Then, don't tell what kind of ammo they had. :)

Ditto here. "Thousands of Rounds" describes the house of nearly everybody I know who shoots. Since the last two shortages, I'll wager the amount of ammo per capita has risen considerably.

That's something I won't do. We travel to so many different states on short notice just for fun that I don't need the hassles of being pulled over and an officer seeing some rounds rolling around on the floor or the console, and lord knows what line of questioning and suspicion that'll bring. I just don't. And my physical appearance at that point won't help the situation. :ROFLMAO:
When I was travelling to NY a lot I was driving a pickup I'd bought from a local Ford dealership when it was 4 years old. A couple of years after I bought it I gave the truck a thorough cleaning; down behind the rear seat under the carpet I found a package of .357 shells in a hard plastic case. They weren't mine. I don't know exactly what the laws are in NY and they would have had to look pretty hard to find them; but it still made me nervous enough to dig further and make sure there were no other "surprises" there.

OTOH right now in my company truck there's ammo for at least 6 guns, including a box of 30-06 shells. I've never owned a rifle of that caliber. Yet it makes me thankful that I live in Maine.

I inherited a bolt action Mossberg .22 from my grandfather. It will shoot as well as my CZ.
