We're right on the border between town and county. We have several outdoor shooting ranges within miles of us(several indoor as well, but those are quiet), as well as a lot of people that shoot on their own property. That type of shooting is heard quit often evenings and weekends. I'm fairly certain the Shot Spotter can be mapped to include those facilities/properties where recreational and instructional shooting occurs, however, that type of outdoor shooting is not allowed inside of city limits. The Shot Spotter is in the city. Hope that clears some things up for you.Well here there are thousands of shots most weekends, everyone has a range on their property and the are several informal public shooting spots off the old haul roads. Yet amazingly no one dies or is shot, we save that for the trained hunters that will show up this weekend.
I could never live in place with enough people and crime to require such a system.
