I was ready to pull the trigger on a mx4700 rite up until the dealer gave me the spec., sheet and it said it had an egr valve. I said you have got to be kidding me. Some of the smaller kubotas like some models in the L series still don't have them. So I was just curious when they started this mess? I have searched the internet with no luck on a answer and the dealer could not help. They kinda acted like they didn't know what it was.
This years models are the first to have them I believe,
as the EPA has mandated that small diesel engines
exhaust must be reduced by what ever means necessary
to reduce the engines exhaust gas emmisions and particulates.
Its too bad as the engines can be cleaned with
exhaust gas purifiers much more easily and only
release carbon dioxide and water vapor if the engine
and valve train are in good condition.
They have been advancing the timing on the small diesels which
in turn reduces the emmisions but makes it miserable for the
new owner due to the excess vibration through the engines power band.
I would add a little sea foam in the crank case and fuel tank to keep the
carbon from building up on all the ports and valves.
Please be sure to check the crank case breather often for any buildups
from the crank case as it must be free to atmospere.
