No they don't. There is no same condition where they don't use less fuel. They burn most of the fuel they are fed vs 1/2 in the old days.

FWIW...In my collection of racing memorabilia I have a set of (used) "nitro" spark plugs from the 'Ramchargers' funny car... they were the friendliest group in the pits at the Gator Nationals...for several years running we made marathon trips from Sebring to Gainesville for the ultimate racing week(ends)...

I had a 454 in a GMC pickup. When I'd drove the heck out of it, I got about 6mpg. I have a 2013 Impala with GDI 300hp. When I drive the heck out of it, guess what? I get about 6mpg. Now if I babied the 454, I'd get about 9. If I baby the Impala, I get 29.

The point is, these modern engines are very fuel efficient under all conditions. However, when you tell it to give it all it's got, it gives it all it's got. You're still gonna get lousy gas mileage stomping on it just like the old timers.

IMO...anybody that thinks tractors are sexy in any form of the word needs their heads examined...The only word I can think of that combines tractors and sex is KINKY... and as far as I am concerned KINKY is the difference between a feather and live chicken...if you know what I mean...!
