What won\'t we do for kids and grandkids

Grandson's 15th birthday today, but he's been out of town on a church retreat since Wednesday, and will return in the morning. He's been wanting a good place to "work out" with weights, so while he's gone, my daughter came up with the plan and I just provided labor the last two days. She cleaned out a little spare bedroom and the pictures are what we did to it. I told her it was the first time I ever vandalized anyone's house. Of course, he's a Dallas Cowboys fan and she's sure he'll love it.

He should be very happy with that setup ! Our son & daughter are headed out next week on one of the workcamp retreats - not much free time for play but they really enjoy helping folks that seriously need it and greatly appreciate it.

Bird, I hate to be the first to point this out, but they sell a new tool at the hardware store called a LEVEL. You might want to run over and get one and then re-paint that stripe across the wall before he gets back home! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll bet they enjoy it. My grandson has already been on one of the workcamp retreats around Cloud Croft, NM, since school was out and now this one at South Padre Island doesn't include the work. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Last year, at the workcamp retreat, he learned now to build concrete sidewalks. I think that may have discouraged him a bit from wanting to be a concrete worker when he grows up /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif; however, he did get an award for being the hardest worker in the group. This year, his group worked at clearing and building hiking trails.
