Airic, here's something to consider about 2305 vs 2320:
1. will it be working in open ground or brush? 2320 wins hand down in that scenario. 2305 has a very exposed trans cooling fan and filter, 2320 has a trans cooler setting in front of the radiator.
2. do you need the full cat 1 lift height, or will picking iimplements up 6" or so be ok for you?
3. true cost of trading the ztr...how much trade will you get for it? the decks on these tractors push $2k, if you only get $500 over that for the ztr, is it really worth trading?

Wow, all excellent advice. I really do appreciate it. I hadn't priced the mower decks and didnt realize they were $2k, wow. I would be able to get $5k out of the Hustler but, $3k is not really getting much more of a tractor and its not going to match the speed and ease I have on the Hustler. Two is better than one.

I have open land with the exception of all my trees and the woods but no brush. For implements I planning for a box grader and tiller and thats about it. Maybe more but I really don't know yet. With this said though I'm going to go do some test drives and compare the 2305 and 2320 per some of the advice given but, I'm thinking the 2305 will do me just fine. I'm giving myself about 2-3 months to really get myself educated before I put the hole in my wallet.

If any of you have more pictures showing some of the tuff work these things sub compact tractors can do, I would love to see. You look at all the brochures from the dealers and all it shows is a few bags of potting soil in the loader and a few potted plants. I see that and think, is this really going to be enough of a tractor? Looking at the one picture of the 2305 with that large rock in the FL really says allot about what these little tractors are capable of. Most of my rocks are not nearly that size.

Thanks again for all of your great advice.

ChuckinNH:

what gives?

Your profile pic shows a Kubota. Your reply shows you on a JD.

When you are back in the saddle, what will it be.

I ask 'cause I am in decision mode between a 2520 and a 3030

Those pictures are from other members. :) I am looking at all brands, and will try to choose a tractor on it's merits for my uses. I seem to like green, and orange the most. In your matchup, I would probably choose the B3030 (actually, I like the B2630) because it has everything the 2520 does and nicer 3pt setup with no interference issues, the backhoes available are much stronger, and easier to mount, and store, and the available front mounted implements are a much better match (63" blower, and 72" blade) than what is available for the JD, and the mount for them can be left on with the loader... a no, no on JD. The only thing that would sway that is maybe the drive over deck, but if I were that concerned about mowing, or the deck, I would probably buy the 2320 which I like better than the B7xxx series because it offers a QC loader bucket/forks/bucket size options, position control, steering brakes that are more useable, drive over mower, and isn't too badly oversized for the front attachments. The loader is slow, but so isn't the 2520 compared to the Kubota. So, I do have some things I like about both.

MSRP for the 62D deck for the 2320 is $2530.00 with the basic mounting kit.

Keep the mower, buy the 2320 or 2520, then save for the rest. Alot of us had to make these same types of decisions when starting out. Just seems that the most money wasted is buying the wrong equipment. Over time you can build up all the attachments.

Good Luck with it.

Hi this is my first posting. For the past several years I have owned a Kubota B7300 16 hp. However, after allot of research between the JD 2305 or 2320, I just this week sold my Kubota and purchased the 2320. I bought the 200cx loader and the 47" front snowblower. I live in upstate NY near the Canadian border and my driveway is 1/2 mile long. I'm really excited - can't wait to retire my orange hat for my green one.

Welcome to the forum! Don't know about the snowblower but I sure have been happy with my 2320. Enough power to get the job done and small enough to get into some pretty tight places.

No wonder you need a snowblower though... 1/2 mile driveway whew. Between the FEL and the snowblower it does sound like you are pretty well set up for winter.

For what its worth, I just sold my 3720. I am probably going to buy another tractor, and it is very likely a 2320. There is a reason for this. I think they are fine machines and will fit into really tight spaces. They are, though, a full compact with Cat one hitch and more weight and ground clearance than the 2305. The 2305 is a tough and popular tractor. I just think one gets more for the money with the 2320. It is really not that much more expensive for the additional features. I am currently looking at 35 acres about eight miles from my house, and if I decide to buy it, I will likely pass on the 2320 to my dad to use as he wishes and I will then move back into a 4000 series. If our OP was seriously interested in a 2520, then at that point I would consider the B3030 Kubota. It, to me, has more features per dollar than the 2520.
