What would you offer for this Mulch Layer

Post another pick of the Holland.

I like my garden purity:D so a raised bed shaper is important to me.

Actually if I continue on the crazed notion of planting everything I can get my hands on, sweating profusely during the summer, battling weeds, and planting 3 acres and working a 45-50 hour a week regular job...I need one of these:D

Seriously, we are increasing to 3 total acres this year and the mulch layer will decrease my work load by 50% at least due to weed control and another 20% due to drip irrigation, maybe more. Of the 3 acres 1 ac will be used for crops not needing the mulch.

I really need to go look at this unit before making an offer and if this deal goes south I will buy next year. I have talked to people who say removal of the plastic is a lot of work but I will make a mulch lifter to help with that.

Wow dude can't even imagine what your planting!

My last commercial season before I went to work for the orchard I had 6 rolls @ 2,000ft each and put down 12,000 lineal feet of 2' foot wide plastic (24,000 sq. ft.) with approx. 2 feet between each row. A little more than an acres worth of land for 6000 plants approx 2 foot apart

I was having this dilemma myself this past year. they wanted $1500 looked new. about the time I was ready to buy it, someone else bought it. SWMBO and my son laid in several rows by hand, and it went faster than I would have thought. I keep looking at cultivators on the farmall thinking I may need to modify a setup to lay it in, but that said, by the time I get done fooling around with doing that, I may be ahead to just buy the layer and be done with it. sooooo, I sit with analysis paralysis.

If you definitely want one, the used one sounds like a good deal to me.

If everything goes as planned I will own this mulch layer this weekend. Was able to negotiate the price and plan to pick it up this Saturday.

Couple of pics the individual emailed me.

After 7 hours on the road Saturday I made it home with the mulch layer.

Plan to make a couple of dry runs without the plastic as soon as the ground thaws a little.

Definitely takes a bit of "feel" to get them laying right. We use a landscaping stone to anchor the tube and just move it to the next. Have fun, it can make for some really nice beds.
