Whatcha drinking?

Not so, I eat limited fast food and I'm very very careful.

For example Double Dave's Pizza, wheat crust, no butter, no cheese, all veggie. Subway and Schlotzsky's and Soupersalad all have plant based no(or little) oil options.
The burger and chicken places don't offer options.

But wait, this is a drinking thread - excuse me!

Tea.

Don't misunderstand, I eat out, but only on special occasions or for the last meal of the day. I don't like fast food, so hate to spend money on something I really don't want, or like.

If I'm, going to spend the money for prepared food, it will be a nicer meal.

I used to eat Double Dave's in college. Loved the Pep'roni rolls then! But just not something I want if I still have work to do.

Must be hard to find foods to eat out, with your restrictive diet, TXDon. At least tea is easy to come by around here!

Whatcha need to do is hire my buddy with his Trans Am, and my other friend with his big rig (he travels with his hound dog). Some times they travel with this young lady who used to be a dancer. Anywho, they specialize in delivering beer from one location to another while avoiding law enforcement. There was this one time, they were transporting a truck load of Coors to Georgia...Oh, never mind, you wouldn't believe it if I told you. :D

That volume of beer is a bit out of my price range; I would probably have to have a big cook out and invite your friends and TBNers worldwide just to keep it from going bad. I hear the guy with the hound dog was somewhat of a whiz on the guitar; would loved to play a few licks with him and Chet.

I see you and I have the same sophisticated taste in entertainment...and I'm betting that Mel and the Danish royalty would have been better off if they had been drinking Coors. ;)

OK, 9:45 AM and I'm about to have a V8 tomato juice.
Tonight, the plan is for a glass of chianti jug wine to go with my homemade chicken cacciatore.

Ok, now you are sounding more human. With "no fast food for 20 years" I figured you definition of fast food was different than mine.

Yep it's hard to eat out, but I found most restaurants accommodating when they can be, sometimes though I have to settle for just a baked potato and a salad. I don't know why everyone thinks you have to have bacon, butter, or oil on all veggies. When you do your healthy cooking at home you don't add those things to your veggies do you? If you do you might as well eat out.

You did say fast food is expensive and not as healthy, but at Soupersalad I can eat 23 different veggies for about $7.

Enjoying a little Aberlour A'Bunadh single malt scotch whisky by the fire pit.

Good whisky. For scotch on the rocks I favor Johnny Walker Red, because it's cheap and tastes decent. For single malt, I have a whole collection. I also like Irish, Knappogue Castle is like drinking air it's so smooth. For bourbon, Wild Turkey barrel strength is wonderful.

Coors? Really? The stuff is little better than dishwater. It's a tribute to the power of advertising to make the American public buy crap.

I think a lot of us would have liked to do that!

And, should you decide to bring in that quantity of beer, just invite some of us from the State south of you. It won't go bad then!

If I am going to spend $7, I'll wait until later and pop another $3 for a truly "sit down" meal. Besides, I'd have to drive almost 30 miles to get to a SouperSalad, so, with fuel burn, isn't just $7, and sure isn't going to get a "quick bite" I can eat for a week, REALLY WELL, on $7, by cooking at home. And I do enjoy cooking, so that makes a difference too. Now, I am ready for the fresh stuff to com ein from the garden, but am watching the forecast closely. We may not be finished with winter yet, and we are already in May.

And, with my fresh veggies, I usually add olive oil, salt and pepper, and throw them on the grill. I do make some squash casseroles, that are not as calorie friendly.

Yes, I use butter, and most things natural. My family always ate what they grew, be it beef, hogs or chickens, along with the eggs. Most made it close to or into the 100s, and that's not bad, having lived through epidmics such as TB, polio, and flu. Cheese is the one food that I could not live without. I think the key is moderation.

I have studied physiology, and am convinced that one can have a cholesterol of 10,000, and it not be a problem, until there is inflammation of the arterial walls. That is what starts the plaque deposits. Over processed foods and refined sugars are what causes the inflammation of vessels. Lucky for me, I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I can buy a Lindt, dark chocolate candy bar, and have to keep it in the freezer, as it will last me a year!

Yes, I am human! (Wonder Woman, but still human!)

Tonight I'm just drinking ice water...

I'm afeared if'n I was to imbibe tonight, I might go too far...

I've got a serious case of the blues...
