What's a good paint sprayer?

HVLPs will spray latex, but they have to be good ones. You need a good 4+stage turbine to do it, and it does help to thin with Floetrol or the like. Still, pushing latex is tough for most turbine or compressed air sprayers.

What does the turbine do?

Well what is you have a big bad azz compressor along with 2 or 3 hunnard feet of air hose? Do you need a turbine?

No. You can find other options if you want to run off your current compressor. I'm not familiar (haven't used) with those, but I'm sure others will chime in.

I have two good cup guns one is a gravity feed and the other picks up the paint from a pickup tube off the bottom of the cup. That one would probably be the better choice for spraying latex because you pressurize the the whole cup and use higher pressures. I guess finding a large enough spray tip or needle would be the only problem. I remember the guy next door to me where I used to live sprayed with his all the time but I never looked at his setup. Back then just the thought of painting would drive me to drinking and heading in the other direction at a high rate of speed.

That place is why I ended up with two hammer drills, I bought one because it was the most powerful but I had to buy another one because it looked so **** bad, Badazz that is, and badazz it is. That thing will sink a 11/2" carbide drill bit into 21" (full tilt) of 4000 lb per sq in concrete and never slow down a bit as it is nawing through a piece of 1/2" rebar. I went around the neighborhood for 2 months after I bought that thing looking for stuff to drill through after I had drilled through everything around the house from giant oak trees to an old giant granite tombstone I found at the dump one day that I just had to bring home for a conversation piece. I quit playing with it though cause the dang thing dislocated my shoulder on day while I was showing it off to some buddies. He wanted a hole drilled through a big tree he had in his yard to hang a cable from. There must have been a big piece of steel implanted inside the tree from another long ago project and when that bit hung a slab of it that drill wound me up in a ball so tight I thought they were going to have cut me free with bolt cutters. After that I only get that drill out on special occasions or when an annoying neighbor comes around and wants to borrow a drill motor.
