Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"
Ok, 'bota soap opera fans, here's a little update and maybe a slightly new development here.
With very little chance for drying out and weather conditions not co-operating I've still not been able to pull tractor out. I did have a guy with an old army vehicle to try to pull it out but he didn't have enough cable so it must be more than 100 ft. Also he was kind of experiencing same condition with the slope..wasn't getting any power on a couple of pulls.
Anyway, I took some hydraulic fluid over and got a little better funnel with a long flexible spout kind of like a transmission funnel. The fact that this is a cab tractor and there's not but about 5 inches of clearance above the hydro fill location and the incline position of tractor, it's extremely hard to get any fluid in. I can't get the spout to give me enough gravity to flow in...but still I managed getting some in.
After doing that, I climbed in cab and tapped the hyrdo pedal forward...started engine...gear selector into Low...nothing happened...but as i kept tapping on pedal...and moving throttle lever to mid position and back down to low idle...the front wheels moved. There was a sound I'd never heard...a low rumble..then a humming sound...and as I moved pedal..I lifted bucket off ground...took emergency brake off...and tractor moved approximately 2 feet forward..then wouldn't move anymore. I stopped using pedal forward and tried moving pedal on rear to go in reverse...a sudden movement occurred. i continued working the pedal and keeping the engine idle at minimum. After about 30 seconds I would try stepping on forward part of pedal. Each time I did this, the tractor would want to move. But as i increased throttle, it would always stop. It seemed that as throttle was low idle, the wheels would move. I actually got it to move forward about 5 feet but I guess a combination of there being a small mound where a stump had been in front of one wheel...and steepness, it just wasn't able to go.
So, I think that tells me it's not a clutch problem...right?
Now, I know there is hydro fluid in there and that isn't the problem. I said earlier that I lost a little when attaching the log splitter but I know it wasn't completely empty. So, is there an airlock in there?
What do you guys think?
