Have you tried starting it up and putting it in neutral, release the parking brake and use the loader to reach out and push the tooth edge into the ground and then use the curl to rock the tractor foward and backward. I am just curious to see if the tractor will roll back and forth. If it does not, then you are probably frozen/hydraulically locked in the mud. If you can get it to break free, you could use the loader to move it back say 3 feet, and that would allow you to detach the Mule. You might have to put a log behind the tires of the mule to keep it from rolling backwards as you move the tractor backward,,,,,

Its been over two weeks since your first post...I hope you have your tractor "out of the woods" by now. I agree with some of the others in regards to warranty. I would be talking to someone from Kubota to get this resolved A.S.A.P.

Thursday update:
Sorry JohnMiller...I sometimes get my 'heroes' mixed up at times. actually was thinking about something Bird said while typing to you.
Anyway, Mule is detached..can't get around tractor with it though.
Have a potential dozer coming tomorrow, but not definite. Most around here stay busy on a big road project and don't have time for small stuff it seems.
Am in contact with dealer by phone..he's giving me things to Test and we'll go from there.

and as for those of you who are suggesting using the loader to climb up...i have done that, several times....each curl of bucket brings me about a foot forward...then i roll back 2 feet...it's extremely steep there...emergency brake can't hold it on it's own without bucket teeth firmly in ground.
I'm just a little 'skeered' as i let go of bucket and start rolling downhill
i've used the bucket trick before and know how to do that...this time..it's much, much different

just a note...here's what it seems as of now......

1.started tractor, gear range in neutral, pressed hydro pedal to the floor, attempted to move gear range lever into LOW range with no clutch depressed 2. scraping of gears sounds... tractor jumped momentarily...didn't move 3. as i tapped on clutch, the front wheel could be seen trying to move..but then..nothing. did this about 4 times...each time when moving range lever from Neutral to Low, gears could be heard scraping...when pressing clutch in...i could see front wheel moving for just a second..then..nothing

I would bet money that you have a failed 25 cent o-ring. Sounds that all the main trans gears are ok and moving with no load. I think the system is not getting up to pressure.

That or you smoked the clutch. With it having a hydro I didn't think it had a clutch. What does it smell like? If you smoked the clutch that bad coming up the hill it ought to smell pretty bad. Did you get any smoke when it quit pulling?

there's absolutely no smell
yes, Kubota's hydrostatic has clutch

I cant be the only one on this board that is sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what is wrong with your Kabota.
I check every day just to see if you have made any progress.
Please dont keep us in suspense this is even better than TV.

kind of sad for it sitting over there in 6-8 inches of snow right now though
