Don -- Let me add my profound sense of relief to all those coming in! Like others, I've been following this thread daily, and wondering what I would do if Clementine was stuck out in the woods like that!

My wife and I have set a bottle of champagne outside to chill. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Does your tractor have a name so we can offer up a proper toast?

SMM
congradulations finally out. Geeze, I only have four white hairs left reading this all this time. For a while there, I thought I would be bald.

SMM,

Glad you got her out of there, I would have caved & payed the piper (recovery service be it wrecker, dozer, skidder etc) a looooooong time ago!

So when will you be ordering up the dynamite to blow up the hill? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

SMM,
Nice going, what will we all do with the extra time now that the saga has ended. H0pe you machine continues to work fine.

What do you think caused the low fluid level. If you are only at full mark after putting all that into it? Do you notice any leaking?

I'll hoist a few cold ones later today in your honor!

Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"

Wow, that's great news.

I had been following this thread since it's inception and with much interest because I was also awaiting delivery of my new 3130 HST.. and concerend about whether I had made the right choice with the Hydro. While you were pulling your 'bota out Saturday, I was taking delivery of mine.

The man who made the delivery was also my dealer's crackerjack serviceman.. just back from the latest Kubota school in Columbus, OH. I asked him about your trouble. It was his theory that you had probably sucked the hydro "charging unit" off the clutch dry. He also added that it's easy to "cook" those units if you do that.. and that could mean thousands of dollars.

Glad to hear your machine is running well.

Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"

SMM,

Glad you got the tractor off that hill!

To cut and post a phrase from Emery's post:

...now that the saga has ended.

Emery got me thinking...has the saga ended? If it were me I would not be comfortable with the tractor yet.

After making sure the fluids were at the proper levels and the tractor seemed to perform normally on flat ground, I'm afraid I would force myself to find a slope as steep as the one I had the problem on, and test and make sure the problem would not reoccur.

I would certainly also be in touch with Kubota on this. I know your dealer is far away...I wonder if there might be an easy way to check and see if the pickup for the hydraulic fluid for the hst is really in there and connected properly?

Thinking out loud here...but what happened does not seem right and without an answer it would really worry me.

Glad the happy in this story in now out weighing the sad!
