It sounds as if you need the 2200 then Ernest, its a little bulldozer, you will like it I think.

( Just my two cents worth here. The "rocker" type pedal design on the BX is not as comfortable (to me anyway) as one where you can place your heel on the platform while you push the pedal . . . )

When I first drove the BX, I placed my heel on the floor with the ball/toe of foot on the pedal. For reverse, I put the heel on the back of pedal, with ball/toe on floor. It just came natural to do that. It was months later I read a post about using the pedal with both heel and toe on pedal all the time. I had never even considered it! I tried it, but it seemed awkward to me too. I have never found any time or effort issues with moving back and forth with heel or toe on floor as I do. FWIW.

Ernest, I just recently bought a BX2230 and love it. I also tested out several BX1500, Bx1800, and BX2200 models. In a side by side comparison the new BX2230 seat is much nicer then the older model. On my acre lot, I have never found a reason to use the cruise, I don't think I would ever use it, unless mowing for very long stretches. I like to keep my foot on the pedal to adjust speed around trees, etc.

The pedal is very comfortable after spending a few hrs on the machine. I came from a JD lawn tractor with two foot pedals (reverse and forward), and I actually like the Kubota pedal much better. I sit my heal on the floor board and move my toe to the floor board when in reverse, never felt the need to use the "rocker" method with my whole foot on there.

I don't buy the idea that Kubota is testing the new engine on the public. I am happy to have the newest engine with the latest refinements. I have zero worries about reliability with this engine.

When testing the BX2200 next to the BX2230, the BX2230 was much quieter and idled much smoother. In my opinion, it was much more desirable then the BX2200. The hydraulics also worked faster and at much lower RPMs. Maybe it was just those two tractors, but I could definitely tell a big difference. I am not knocking the BX2200, just simply stating my opinion.

You can't go wrong with either unit, that sounds like a good deal on the 2200, I would try both next to each other, and go with your gut. Chances are you will regret not getting the one you really want, regardless of the cost.

Dad's farm is about 2 miles from my house, and when I drove the BX2230 over the other day, the cruise control sure made the trip more enjoyable!! I guess different people have different needs.

Kubota gives you a 3 year warranty on their powertrain. You would think even with 50 hours a year on the tractor thats 150 hours on the engine that would get worked before the onus goes from them to you for costs. New or not if something terminal is going to happen it will before then.

Cruise for me is sweet. My yard is 400 x 1000 feet deep. We like to mow it all. An acre or whatever I can understand is useless for cruise. Your yard set up determines whether it's worth the difference.

Cost however is something to consider. If the difference is substantial enough for you to buy an implement with the savings vs a new 2230 then I'd be awfully tempted to go that way. Tractors like the BX series are made for many years of use not like the throw away tractors Wal-Mart sells. Don't get hung up on the difference.

Grease the MMM before you use it. I've been reading the other threads about the big cavity you need to fill with grease or the bearings fail. By the way welcome to the orange revolution!!

Thats what I thought. I have been pricing the 2230. It doesn't seen like the dealers like to deal. 3 dealers all priced with in a few $ of each other but there price isn't close the price from the price list that can be found on this form. The price for tractor and deck are around $9500 to $10k.

$9,800 is probably the average for tractor and 60"MMM
