Can't think of the technical name, but it's the Black Canyon near Gunnison. Settlers crossed that ravine with their wagons and belongings. Just try to imagine such an undertaking!!!


Here's another teaser. Put Colorado or anywhere in the Rockies on your Bucket List. I've never saw an ugly place in those mountains.

I always say, just how bad were their lives to pack up and do that??? We are SOOOOO spoiled.

Yep. I always wonder if they had thoughts about "how hard this is", or if it was "just life". I go back and forth in my thoughts.

Hiking in the mountains for a few days using all the new ultra-light equipment, goretex jackets, water filters, and carrying dehydrated food, only gives you a hint of how hard it was for the early European settlers. And the wisdom of the native Americans like Sacagawea.
