We started a collection for my daughter in 1988 when she was born. The intent is to give it to her on her 21st birthday.
I could not really afford good wines that would age well for 21 years. But vintage port, ice wines and desert wines hold up well so she mostly has that in her collection.
Every once in a while I get lucky. Our supermarket had a 1988 cab for 37 bucks. I bought it and then did a net search. Best price I could fine was well over $150. I still do not know if it will be palatable in 3 years but we will give it a test.
There is one winery in NH Flag Hill Winery .They hold a festival and you help pick the grapes at harvest time. For this you get a T-shirt, a wine goblet and a great meal. My wife and kid even foot stomped some grapes that were made into a wine.
Anyway his location does not allow for ice wine and of course the "noble rot" that makes French desert wines is not in NH. So to boost his sugar content he adds a NH staple - Maple syrup. It is not bad.
