What's in your tractor toolbox?

I have most of those hand tools and a spud wrench, very handy. <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=497547"/>

I got a used one off eBay after finding none available in any local hardware store. The new ones from Amazon are expensive. The only real use is lining up bolt holes but they are about the only practical tool for doing that. I wanted a bigger one to line up the pin holes for my backhoe bucket and ripper but the spud wrenches that go up to 1.5 inches and above are several hundred bucks as I recall.

Tractor Supply carries those, they also carry a version with a 1/2 and 3/8 inch ratchet head on it, that one also has a hammerhead on one side and claws to pull out a nail on the other.

I notice this phenomenon as well. The tool i need is usually the farthest away from my current location.

There is a reverse to this curse that I use. I don't believe it but it seems so work.

If I'm spreading fertilizer and risk breaking the shear bolt, which is a messy problem, I simply bring three extras. Then, for some reason, the day will be break-free. If I fear rain, I drag out and bring the complete rain suit with boots. Then, no rain. Again, I don't believe in superstition but this really seems to work.

Brush cutter shear bolts and nuts, a couple lynch pins, 3 point pins, clevis, 12" & 8" adjustable wrench, small linemans pliers, 10" channellocks, ball pein hammer, claw hammer, fence pliers, HF "stanley" knife, HF free screwdriver set, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 3/4 combo wrenches, dedicated Farmall C sparkplug socket, beater screwdriver, 14" crow bar, a couple rags, maybe some other items I can't remember. These items will get me going when I'm out brush chopping but I'm never more than 40 acres away from the big rollaround.

I have a few shop towels, crescent wrench, extra pins etc. By far, the most useful item is that roll of toilet paper stored in a baggie. Its a long run back to the house and I've NEVER made it.

Y'all cracked me up with the "walk of shame" comment. Some days it seems like I run laps over the 300' distance between my barn and workshop, and each lap starts with a sigh and drooped shoulders. In my next life I would combine the two buildings to reduce wear on my work boots. I am slowly building up a set of common tools for the barn, mostly from extras and spares. With two Kubotas, I realized I need metric tools for the barn now....

Don't have a tool box on my JD. My BH has chains in the box. If I need a tool I get it out of the chest in the garage.

I hear ya. Then mine is compounded by two work locations, 6 miles apart. Then it's the "drive of shame".......
