What's My Tractor Worth?

   / What's My Tractor Worth? #11
I just got s quote back from the Kubota dealer and he will give me $2, 645 less than what I originally paid for it before taxes. I don't that's bad at all. They only thing is I'm leaning towards a Kioti.

What about all that remote add ons? Did you get money for them?? What size Kioti you thinking?

I want a ck35 hst. It is a little big for what I need but I was able to try it at the dealers and I think it will work for me. I won't be loading the tires to keep the weight down. I've alreay built a nice ballast when needed. I will also be getting a backhoe. I tried the ck2510 and would love to that size but it doesn't have the mid range...... so that's off the table. I have some small hills and I think with it only having hi/low rang it will be an issue for me. My other option I was looking at with Kubota is a b2650.... it will fit my needes but not built like a Kioti. I'm working with a Kioti dealer right now but he's trying to figure out what my tractor now is worth for a trade in. I'm hoping to hear back from him by the end of today.

IMO that isnt a big enough size change to warrant loosing money on a trade.

The CK35 is not really much smaller at all. Length, width, wheel base, all about the same. Only 500# difference in weight. Not gonna be noticeable IMO

I think you can do much better than 20% loss. It also depends on your market and how long you're willing to sit in it. Could take a day, it could be months before you sell it. The good part is if you bought it last year it's still under warranty and buyers will like that.

As for trading a to a CK35 from your current is pointless. Essentially it's the Same category size.

I'm not sure how much land you cut but Id recommend some kind of dedicated mower depending on your finances.

I'm looking to sell mine too, L3540HSTC. It's a great tractor but I'm looking for more power .... If it was just for my property it would be a keeper all day.

I would say you can do better than that if you sell in a private sale. A clean almost new tier 3 machine can be a valuable commodity these days. In April I sold a 2 year old L3200 with 100 hrs for almost 90% of what I paid for it to the first person that looked at it.

Unfortunately this is more of a TBN thing. People outside of the Internet forums aren't nearly as concerned with this "end of the world" concept that we call Tier 4. It's a good sales pitch sure, but it's not going to increase the value in the used market.

I have to agree.
Not sure what is being gained by trading for a CK 35. Not a whole lot of difference in size and weight.
Not sure about the Kubota number/letters but it looks like you might have a cab model ? I know I wouldn't give up a cab if I had one.

After listening in here for a couple years and all the Tier 4 final dread, I thought I was going to be rolling in cash for my L5740. To my dismay the L5740 is still here because I can't afford to take the loss at this time. I did better trading my L3710, 10 years old at the time, trading it for the L5740 than my quotes for trading my L5740 for a L6060. By that I mean percentage of what I paid to trade in value after all discounts. I think your dealer offered a great deal.

True to some extent but it is not just the "technical aspect" of the tier 4, pricing is a factor as well. In my case I sold a two year old L3200 for almost 90% of what it was worth. I didn't ask the buyer what was going on in his head, but I would think in this scenario, it is a selling point vs. the more expensive replacement (L3301). Final tier 4 has undeniably added a lot of cost to the newer models.

Oh I totally agree!!! I will sacrifice having less power and having a cab as appose to more power with no cab. I hope to move up to a 5740 with cab. Prices for these machines are literally all over the map.

I have an acre and a half to mow. The l3540 just seems so big on my property with the cab. I'm trying to have ONE machine that will mow and do the chores I need done around the property. So I need something big enuff but will still be able to mow. The ck35 weighs in at 3200 lbs and the l3540 with cab and loaded tires weighs in at 5,000 lbs (1200 lb difference). I guess that's where I'm looking at the size differences. The cab is nice but I don't need it for the amount of time I'm plowing snow...... I prefer no cab in the summer. Id rather have a backhoe over a cab.
