Well, it would seem the way fate would have it I cannot find a used 3x20 series or 4x20 series unit anywhere in Canada, and I need dealer financing so I can't buy in the U.S. I may have to look at buying a 4105 or 3038E machine instead. Now, my questions are:

I will have the need to run a grapple fork/bucket. What extra plumbing/valves does this require, and is it possible to run a grapple fork on a 4105/3038E?

I see some used tractors with up to 5 SCV's. What is the purpose of having so many SCV's?

My needs include:

Pallet forks
Grapple forks/bucket
Rotary Cutter
Tiller
Front end loader
Possible Mid mount mower

This is all the implements I will ever have use for with the unit I am currently shopping for.

Thanks all!

You can add additional hydraulic functions to any modern tractor (that has a hydraulic system). What's required, depends on how you want to accomplish things. For some reading, use the search function..... and try words like third function , grapple , diverter , etc. You may choose an electric / hydraulic diverter , where as I may want an electric / hydraulic solenoid for a true third function.

The amount of SCVs you require will depend on the attachments you are controlling. As an example, you may be operating a rear grader blade with hydraulic controls for blade angle, swing... left to right...... as well as a hydraulic top link and tilt. This would require 4 pairs of outlets at the rear of the tractor.

It really depends on how much you will be using each of those implements and how much you want to spend. For what you described you could get by with the two scv's for the loader and one on the rear. When you want to use the grapple just run a hose back to the rear scv. This doesn't seem very popular around here, but we have been doing it for years and it works fine. Now if the grapple is something you will be using everyday then a third function valve on the loader would be in order.

As to the other implements, generally I like implements that will just cover the tire tracks. A 5' rotary cutter operates best with about 30+ hp, and a 6' with about 40+ hp.
