Re: what\'s this?

NOPE! can't be used in place of a fel, can u dig with it? can u lift and move dirt with it? can u back drag with it? the scoop is a nice implement, but won't take the place of a fel.

Whooee Frank. Good thing I didn't read your post before I went out and dug, moved dirt and back dragged with the scoop on my L210. Or were you kidding?

I won't be putting a FEL on the old girl....would cost more than she's worth. So, until I get a newer tractor I'll have to make do with the scoop for such work.

It was also handy as a carrier for the wood I salvaged from some power line work that was inflicted on my place.

My only complaint with the one I bought, a KingKutter, is that the dump mechanism is pretty stiff and you can't always dump without first setting the bucket down to take the pressure off. That turns out to be no big deal, but I will have to come up with a better place to hang the end of the rope that I pull on. I have the handle just hanging from a bolt on the fender, and with the bucket up the piece of wood dowel I use as a grip can bang on the tire. So, move the bolt dummy!

Re: what\'s this?

The main drawback is the lift/dump height.... You won't be dumping into truck beds unless you have a ramp..stable ramp.. etc.

For incidental dirt movement it is great. I had a few dump truck loads of dirt left over from my house construction, and let them dump it inmy side pasture. Any time I get a hole to be filled or need dirt I can go scoop it up etc.. works reasonably well. I move about 10 yards of it with my 1979 yanmar 1700 and some front weights.

A front end loader it is not. As a powered self loading wheelbarrow it is absolutely stupendous !

So far on my farm it has done what I needed it too... Not as handy.. but way less $pendy...

Re: what\'s this?

Hey, that looks like... a big ol' load of back breaking dirt. If you don't have the money for a loader, that seems like a cost effective alternative to a wheel barrow, for sure. Anything to save your back, right?

Re: what\'s this?

You got it Moss Road.
I'll be adding one of those as soon as I get my Midwest Quick Hitch.
