Whats up with diesel prices?

$3.359 in Caddo Oklahoma Today.

Just checked off road ... $3.199 ... and said she thinks it will be down another 5 cents first of the week ... I told her to send the truck to fill my farm tank....first thing Tuesday Morning.

Back when I first moved to a rural area in late '89, I had a supplier come and fill the tank for the oil burning furnace here, and I paid something like 68 cents a gallon for fuel oil, and I thought that was a ripoff....:laughing:

Unleaded regular around here is $3.22 to 3.25.. Unleaded Premium is $3.58 to 3.59 Diesel is $3.45 to 3.58.. I don't see any disparity between Premium and Diesel.. some of the Premium around here has ethanol and some is ethanol free. This area (Branson, Mo.) has higher fuel prices than say out toward Joplin, or even Springfield.. I think they are on the Pipeline route, and we are a ways of of it. I have also wondered if because we are a tourist area, they just jack it up a little for our friends from other places

The price of fuel may drop further if the Fed and other central banks refuse to act soon. I think they will act within the month of June and you will see inflation come back and raise prices of most goods higher.

I don't understand.. are you hoping there is inflation? If so.. why?

If they don't act, the financial world as we know it will be over and they will lose their power....therefore, they will print.

Who will lose their power.. the federal reserve? They were poofed into being by congress, they won't go anywhere unless congress removes them (which they can't do soon enough, in my opinion.. and the president who created thems' opinion).

Beyond all of this, I don't see why the federal reserve would print money just because the price of fuel is going down. From everything I've read they print money only when the government spends more than it taxes. Something must be spent by the government to prompt the printing (which happens 24/7 lately). I'm not sure what gas being cheaper than lately has to do with that. Care to enlighten?

Good news. The president who was in office when the Federal Reserve was created has finally finished his term. That's right, Woodrow Wilson's administration ended in 1921.
