Had a '97 GMC G30 Van for a while. It was automatic, two wheel drive and, had a 454 with throttle body injection. It got 12 MPG. Didn't matter if I hyperdrove it, or if I towed 3,000 pounds. It got 12 MPG. Tried all manner of things to see if I could get 15...... Over inflate tires, pull in the side mirrors, turn off A/C, nope, it got 12 MPG. It was like this truck was set, to only do 12 MPG. Like, it was programed to do that.
Dude, you must be an extreeeeme hypermiler if we are to accept a 40mpg avg figure, on a gas hog focus RS. Your compatriots are averaging around half that! Nice work! (or check your calculations, lol). This is fun and I'm a hyper miler at heart anyway..
Focus RS 6 speed hatch = 40.1 mpg Mine)
.....
I keep it well tuned and the tires at maximum sidewall inflation pressure and my tires are LRR (low rolling resistance tires too.Dude, you must be an extreeeeme hypermiler if we are to accept a 40mpg avg figure, on a gas hog focus RS. When you hit the 70 'milestone' everything is downhill from then on out....One thing stands out. Almost everybody has a 30mpg car. Most have a 40 mpg car.
It's clear we choose to save on or payless to travel. I'm nearly 70 and I plan to run the VW TDI until it or I die.
Looks like we only need the opportunity to own efficient cars and we will.
Oh? GreatWhen you hit the 70 'milestone' everything is downhill from then on out....![]()
