My old D6 uses 2GPH /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif, full throttle, disking on rolling hills, 2nd gear uphill, 3rd gear on the flat and downhill. I can run for 2 days between fill-ups. ( 48 gal tank )

My Mahindra 4110, 41 hp, uses right at 1 gal. per hour when cutting with my 6' rotary in fairly heavy grass - running around 2400 rpms. When doing loader & grading work I run around 1400 rpms and get close to 2 hrs. on a gallon.

My Mahindra 4110, 41 hp, uses right at 1 gal. per hour when cutting with my 6' rotary in fairly heavy grass - running around 2400 rpms. When doing loader & grading work I run around 1400 rpms and get close to 2 hrs. on a gallon.

Don't have a clue about the dozer but for my BX 22 your consumption is excessive. I just went 15 hours on 4 gallons. But I do not mow at all and use it to clean horse stalls and dug about 60 ft of trench 18in deep, moved some landscape gravel (6 tons)and a pallet of sand stone 3500 lb, pme loader bucket at a time.. I suspect that you are mowing at full throttle or close to it and that is what is using the fuel. But as an old and still alive military pilot I tend to keep my rpm low. just never know when you might need full power for ever.

Depends on what one's doing, big time. I get about 1 gallon per hour on my L3410 when brush cutting (continuous high rpm, under strain frequently), so my tank gets me a day "on the job", with enough left to drive back to the garage without worrying (it's my future retirement property, so it's not a job, but I can see why Kubota chose the tank size). When mucking around with my front end loader or box blade, with lots of low rpm times, I get about .6 gallons per hour.

I owned an international 500c dozer which is a 10,000 lb 45 HP machine and it burned 1 gallon of diesel per hour. I know the D3 is a little bit bigger but the fuel consumption on your cat seems too high. A HP is a HP and your dozer shouldn't use much more fuel than an equal HP tractor when they are both working.

Every motor/tractor is different. I run an 8430 4wd John Deere with a 21' folding wing disc, and use about 5.5 gallons per hour. The other halfs uncle has a Stieger, about the same hp, with the same size disc, in the same soil (half mile away), and he uses 10GPH!!!! Needless to say he's not too happy with his new to him tractor.
