My CAT D3 fuel consumption at 5 gallons per hour seems high to me also. Maybe someone is siphoning the fuel? 5 GPH is based on cutting in new fire trails/fire breaks with a lot of uphill dozing and pushing a fully loaded blade. I figure I am a little under 15,000 lbs with attachments and cage.

Average of 0.45 gallons/hr on my 4010 with nearly 150 hours on it. Doesn't vary much from this, no matter what the usage.
