New BX2370 arrives tomorrow.
I have decided to go with R4s instead of turf tires. The actual area of planted grass I want to be careful with is small. The majority is yard / field so a couple of dings in that won't bother us. Snow is mild here - only a few inches. We may get a foot once in a while but not lately. Balancing this against a third of the property is pasture and a third woods and all the SCUT trails to get firewood I decided the R4s would be best.
I am sticking with the 54" MMM. My tight clearances are not just one sided but between things. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can add wheel spacers with the mower deck on. So wheel spacers are out for now. We'll see if two setups are warranted: one with MMM and nothing else and the other with the FEL, spacers, and what not. I need to experience the difficulty of removing and installing the MMM, FEL, and rear implements.
Filling tires (the rears only) are out for now as well. My dealer is not a Rimguard dealer. Both nearest dealers for Rimguard, Carson City NV and Red Bluff CA are quite a drive. I won't install just water and if I think I need it I'll make that drive at some point.
And - I am getting a rear 4' box blade instead of the Kubota ballast box. The dealer has only sold two, made the same recommendation as the forum, and showed me a picture of how far back the ballast box hangs. I am just not saving much maneuvering space over the box blade.
All these choices probably do not match anyone's here 100% but then most of the posts helped with my decisions. I think I'll be happy with the near stock configuration until I learn my limitations. I have all day tomorrow to play (President's Day)!
