When do you start and stop mowing the grass where you live?

Frost on windshield yesterday morning but not in the grass.

Mowed yesterday and mowed it 1/2" lower than normal because I am not expecting to do it again.

26 degrees and hard frost this morning....and supposed to be the same the next couple days

I’m an hour east of Atlanta and I normally mow the last time just prior to Thanksgiving. This gives me a nice green lawn for a few days and looks nice for the visitors.

Once the centipede goes to seed I quit cutting, this is generally in late September. The overgrowth protects against frost and keeps it from going dormant until you cut.

I have to rake and haul off the clippings but it is worth it.

Having said all that.. Not this year, I went back to work. Nobody got time for that

Never it always has to be cut! But in the winter I can get away if it dose not rain a lot with once a month.

I feel your pain! I might get a few weeks off in late fall and thru our one week of winter! You are another 130 miles to the south of me, so you probably don't get much relief!

In early June I ordered Husqvarna Z254F (54" inch cut, 24 hp Kawasaki). November 2 they called and said it was in and will deliver it on Monday.

I told them to put a plow on it! It snowed here 3 days in a row, not that much and will melt in the next few days, because it is going to warm up for a few days.

With my Woods 48" mower on the back of my B7100 I usually only mowed 5-6 time a summer, but now with this I'll probably more the higher grass areas more often.

It looks like I have to mow one more time to finish out this extra long mowing season. We've had good rainfall and some pretty warm weather recently and I could probably cut off two or more inches. I hate to do it but fear the taller grass will fall over and make spring growth a little harder. This has been one heck of a year and it starts up again in early April.

I went out to mow the leaves today and it was quite difficult as the grass had grown again since the last mowing. November 23 and the grass is still growing. A week before Thanksgiving and the leaves are still not all down. They used to fall in October, before Halloween.

Tat's funny! We have not had a winter since I moved to Indiana 20+ years ago. Have you ever really had a winter?

Yes. We used to go ice fishing from Christmas though March. Now we're lucky to get on by the end of January for about 4-5 weeks.

I'm in the Chicago area, recently went to mulch leaves with the mower, was surprised that yes I did have a little bit of grass growth from 3 weeks prior. Had the mower height set as last mowing: 2.5" for front yard, 3.25" for rear (uneven ground).
