Currently -14 c with wind chill of -29 c. Don,t expect the snow to leave before the beginning of April, the ice to leave before the middle of April and will be greatfull if the frost is gone by May 1 st. Welcome to northern Ontario!

Howdy neighbour!
I don't think we will plant anything into the ground before the first of June this year. Last year we got caught and had to replant most of the veggies.:(

In me two places, northeast Mississippi, and near Augusta, GA, we're having mid 60s lately, swinging a lot though. This week, high is supposed to be about 47 Thursday and Friday. But I always tell Ethyl when I think the Backbone of Winter is broken, and I say it's broken for this year!:cool2::jump:

When does it start to warm up around here? Uh... about July 5th. But I guess if we are talking about planting, and 50deg nights, it is sometime in May.

72 degrees F here yesterday. 19 degrees F forecast for Saturday morning.

Mid March/Early April seems to be when spring usually arrives here for good.

I suspect winter is broken around central-south Ohio as well. We may have a few cold days and maybe a little snow, but with no snow packed on the ground, no frost and some 50's on tap it's hard for the cold to come back. A sunny day with the sun rising in the sky like it is can warm things pretty quick. :)

Pink=outside temp
Orange = upstairs temp
blue = downstairs temp
red = basement temp

Depends on what is starting and what is warm. Here are my last years temps, current temps on the right. We are in mid winter, so will start to warm up in a month, but won't be turning off heat until may. Have been heating for last 3/10 of yr, will heat for another 3/10 of yr. 4/10 of year is AC.

How are you gathering this data? I assume you aren't hand logging it.

I use this:
Low-Cost Multi-Temperature Logger: The Web Energy Logger

I chart daily temps, weekly, monthy, and yearly. You set it up how you want.
I have temp sensors on my geothermal lines. There's a lot more I want to do with it, but haven't got around to. I want to get the thermostat interface to measure how long each stage runs, then I can calculate heating/cooling costs. I also want to add KWH monitor to measure total electric usage.

my outdoor sensor is on the south side of the house in the shade, but picks up a lot of radiant from the side of the house. When the sun is out it gives unaccurate high readings. I keep meaning to move the outside sensor to the front porch.
