When is a brake dragging?

Follow up:

I raised the other front tire and gave it the same spin. It rotates about 1/2 to 2/3 around before stopping, compared to other side which was 1/4 to 1/3.
...but then...my son came home from college and was able to ride with me and stick his head out the window...”Uhh, that noise is from the rear wheel not the front.” Dooh!
The rear brake disk temperature read the coolest of all 4?!
The rear disk does look like it may be getting scraped.

I think we are all guilty of that, noises come from a different area to what we think they do, I have fixed rattles that were not where they sounded like they were coming from.
One of the worst was the pin holding the drawbar in the hitch rattling, I thought the engine was falling out.
Wifes car had a noisy brake and it was a small pebble that found its way into the caliper mechanism, fell out when we took the wheel off, no damage but it was about half the size of a pea, there was a guard to stop stones getting in but this one found a way.

Puzzling. I was going to tell you I've had to replace calipers for issues like this on 1/2 ton GM. But the rear noise could also be caliper not releasing well.

My back brakes now make load humming noise after i replaced the pads. Strange.

Did you put the springs back in?
I didn't on my landcruiser because they looked like they didn't do anything, I discovered they stopped vibration and strange noises, just a long bent wire that clips onto the pad and a small hole in the hub.
Don't know that all brakes have them.

Yes, i put those in. Never had brakes with them before.
