Well, I called the New Holland Customer Response Center at 888 290-7377 and they were no help at all. I could only get to a phone answering person who was trained to answer FAQs or other simple questions. She said to talk to my dealer or another dealer about the weight limits on NH tractor. I told her that I have already talked to a couple dealers and all I get is their opinions, which differ, and I needed to talk to a NH engineer or designer who could give me the exact specs. She said to call my dealer and get the name of the regional sales rep.

I called the Lemon Laws number (800 US LEMON) and went through their standard initial "infomation taking" process. The person who answered the phone could not answer any questions (like "does this apply to farm equipment?") and could only take the information to forward to one of their associates. So, I gave them the basic information and am waitig to hear back from them.

Wonderfull.....

Can't remember for sure but thought you had involved the regional rep already. Does he have or can he get the specifications for yout tractor? Specificaly the max wieght and mount distance for your tractor. Might try calling him again.

You may want to call the cust serv number again and try another tack at it. Ask for a supervisor or manager right off the bat. Explain you have a legal issue and you cant obtian the information needed through regular channels. Explain to them you tried and be very very nice.

Not sure what else to tell you at the moment.

New I was forgetting something!

If you still can not get past the ACD agent at the call center send them an email.

The only regional rep I've talked to is the Bush Hog one, not the New Holland one. I'll try your suggestions when I get a chance. Unfortunately, I have to do this during business hours, or there will be no one there, and I also have to get some work done - the last thing I need to do is lose my job because of this!

I called Jimmy Anderson, the Bush Hog sales manager, again on Tuesday. He recommended that I talk to my dealer or another dealer about trading the M246 in for another FEL. So, once again, he was making it clear that it was between me and my dealer. I told him that it amazes me that Bush Hog is not willing to do anything to help. I told him (as I have many times before) that Bush Hog reps told me things when I was researching the M246 that turned out not to be true and re-iterated about the extra mounting brackets. He said that I was the dealer's customer and that the dealer needs to settle it with me. So, I told him that my dealer, John and Davis Equipment, is Bush Hog's customer and that Bush Hog needs to work with their customer as well. That seemed to sink in because Jimmy Anderson said, with a sound of exasperation in his voice, that "the best thing to do then is to take it back" and he is going to call John and arrange it! I said "thanks", and I asked him who was going to cover the cost. He said that he would work that out with my dealer (John). I told him "thank you for your help" and that was then end of the conversation.

So, I waited all day yesterday hoping to hear from John at Davis Equipment, but never did. Today, I called Davis Equipment to talk to John and find out if Jimmy Anderson had called. But, as luck would have it, John is on vacation this week and won't be back until Monday. I asked the guy who answered the phone if he knew whether or not Jimmy Anderson from Bush Hog called yesterday and he said yes and he was the one who took the message. So, at least Jimmy Anderson did call Davis Equipment. But, now I have to wait until Monday before I can get any further with actually returning the FEL.

Wow! This is certainly some good news! Perhaps when you take it back you can arrange to have a 7308 installed.

"arrange to have a 7308 installed"

Mike - That depends on the dealer. They are still negotiating what it will cost me to get the BH M246 returned. They've indicated I will have to pay for the cost of having it installed and removed, plus some other amount yet to be determined. If they don't gouge me too bad, I'll consider buying a NH7308 from them, but otherwise I'll go to another dealer.

Get a package $$$ deal right up front... for removal and the new 7308...

Tell this dealer... you are definitely going to buy a 7308!... You don't want any hard feelings... but you expect a FAIR dealing... (either he can work with you and make a few more dollars off ya... or you will have to go elsewhere... but either way Mr. Dealer... I'm gonna buy a 7308 loader from someone... Will it be you?)

(contact other local NH dealers for some price quotes on a 7308 installed, to keep everyone Honest)
