When were McCormick-Deering Farmalls gray?

Never considered reinstalling the lugs. I got the engine running. I went to the local co-op and picked up 2 old truck tires and two rear tractor tires. Used a sawsall to cut the tread out of each and bolted it to the steel rims. Found out driving it on asphalt that there wasn't much shock absorber in 1" of tread!

We ended up moving and I had no space for the tractor, so I gave it to a buddy of mine.

The tractor was a Monster. The frame was one piece CAST from the front radiator mount to the rear differential lower half. Radiator weighed like 200 lbs. In it's day, I'm sure it was a nice tractor............

Hi mcsteph5islands,

When I was restoring my 22-36, I was able to buy a reprint of an overhaul manual (forget where).

I was also able to talk a local IH dealer out of selling me his parts book for the 15-30/22-36. He had two left over from his biz and agreed to part with one for some $$$$$. That was very helpful in rebuilding mine.

I also was able to find some guys in western KS that dealt with old stock parts. I bought a NEW carb overhaul kit from a gent in Greensburg!

Those guy are still around, if you can find them.

That was a very good read! That will be great when you start offering the gray paint. I think a lot of restorers will be interested. I have always wondered what paint different restorers use when painting their gray McCormick-Deerings. I really look forward to hearing about the new Dupont gray paint. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You know, you should take your story to RFD-TV. I think they would be interested. It seems there is always something McCormick-Deering related on their tractor shows. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
