When & Why to use the 1000 rpm pto?

OK, my 2800 has both 540 and 1000 rpm for the pto. What should I use the 1000 rpm for, if anything?

Many small implements in Japan operate at 1000 rpm. In particular the tiller that works rice, what your tractor was designed to work originally. HS

I use the 1000 rpm speed to run my homemade log splitter. The engine does not have to scream to get flow from the pump. :thumbsup:
