While much of Michigan is suffering, it isn't universal. I live in Marquette County which has changed little according to the Forbes study. Unfortunately in the big picture, for Michigan as a whole, we are but a speck.
We have the most valuable resource known to man in vast quantites up here, but it hasn't caused much in-migration yet.

Don't worry, after they let the Asian Carp in and everything collapses, they will take over that resourse and pipe it to the Southwest.

"what's happening in your county?" I'm just a Ol-Southern Man trying to make a liven and doin the best I can, Hmmm! that chimes sound familiar
The best way can be describe from a Southern Man perspective,
is too many folks fishin in the same pond until the pond is fished out and no body is paying for the fish they catch, The owner of the Pond keeps re-stocking the pond with more fish but yet these fish are being caught out and removed, pretty soon the owner of the pond can no longer afford to keep pulling money from his pocket to have the pond re-stocked, so he closes down his fishing pond and puts up an out of business sign, Although he still has to pay Tax on owning the pond, He decides to try and sale the water in the pond to pay the taxes, then pretty soon all the water is gone and he's left with a dried up hole in the ground, But yet he still must pay tax's on the dried up pond, The X-fishing pond owner has no more way of earning money to pay the Tax's other then to sell off personal property that he has worked so hard for... after a while he has nothing left, he can no longer pay the Tax's then his house and dried up fish pond are being sold at auction for little more then the Tax's owed, everything that he has ever worked hard for now in the hands of some rich person that only looks at the property as an investment and perhaps to re-sale for a profit, The once pond owner who had hopes of sending his children though school has now been faced with conditions of possible poverty,
Now! to go back to the folks that fished this pond and didn't pay for the fish they caught, these people are doing well for them selves because they have learn to take something for nothing, these people are not land or business owners, these people do not have to pay tax's like homeowners and the working class people do, these people are people who do not wish to become a part of the fix in America but people who drain from the American economy, people who take without giving back something, actually people who take and send what they take back to where they originally came from, even though it was only fish taken from a pond then end results cost the pond owner his lively hood and may not ever have trust and faith in his Country again, To put the icing on the cake a lot of the tax's he paid went to the benefits of the same people who took the fish from him in the first place,................................
to keep taxing a person out of their homes is not the way to repair our economy, Get rid of the fish thief's and their might still be hope for a turn around in our economy, If the fish thieves are let to continue fishing the ponds dry then there will be no recovering,
