I also want to add that on my GC2410 the tractor and ROP was mad in Japan by ISEKI. The loader and the BH implements were made by AGCO in the USA.
Where are 1700 series made?

Hello everyone,
I too am very interested in the 1700 series, seems to be a fine tractor! I was curious wether folks who own this series with the Tier4 Massey F's have a thread going discussing their experiences with the new system? I've been doing a lot of reading on it and trying to understand it better.
My wife and I have been contemplating buying a new tractor this year so her father can do some land clearing for us. I've always been partial to Kubota, my father owns a b2910 that's never had an issue and is still on the original battery. My b7100 is over 40 years old and still runs like a beast.
I've been following a lot of issues with the tier4 kubotas and it has not been pleasant.... Folks are getting quite angry about it and I don't blame them! It's to the point where I want nothing to do with a tier 4 kubota.
Massey has always been highly regarded by owners, that why I'm really interested. If anyone is sharing their experiences, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Which size are you looking at? Also, cab or open station?

I like the premium series 1736 and 1749. Although I would love a cab living in New England, it's out of my price range and it would probably get wrecked in the woods...

Lol ok I understand... Cabs aren't for everyone (though I wouldn't give mine up!).
I have a 1648 HST cab. Excellent tractor. Great quality. Granted over only put about 425 hrs on her (in a year) so she's still pretty young ... But she's been flawless.
Kubota offers a good tractor too, and Kubota has a more advanced HST transmission than the Massey, but other than that, I think the Massey is better overall (my personal opinion).
The 1700's use a different engine and fuel delivery system than the 1600's. Otherwise they are the same, with a few upgrades to the cab and HST options on the 17xx series.
Every manufacturer seems to claim that their tier 4 system is better, Massey notwithstanding. I can't comment on the regen, but I can say that the tractor itself is very good.
Is it better than Kubota? In my personal experience yes (based on reliability from personal experiences), but I don't think you'd go wrong getting a Kubota either. Or a Kioti, LS, or JD for that matter.

I am mainly curious if any owners of the 1700 tier 4 have posted any of their experiences with owning and operating the new system. Some folks on a kubota forum I belong to have been posting all of their experiences with it. For example...when it regenerates, at what hour, and how many hours since the last. atIt's very informative to read and I find it very helpful as a potential buyer to see how it's working for everyone. Unfortunately, some have been having some serious issues with it. I guess there was already a recall on a part that freezes up and a poor fella having problem mentioned it's back ordered.... Another guy posted how his engine ran away and couldn't shut it down, it literally pooped the bed and left a pile of soot in the ground!
I'm not a huge fan of JD, owned a few of their lawn mowers and honestly had better luck with a murry from Walmart. From a lot of the reviews I have read about them, it seems they are lacking in the quality control dept. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing JD. If I won one in a contest, I would run the **** out of it.
For what these tractors cost today I want the best quality for the dollar. Tier 4 is here to stay so I'm just trying to do my homework.

On my Dad's 1749 HST, the system automatically does partial regens of the DPF whenever he is doing any sustained high rpm work like shredding or tilling. It would be impossible to tell this was happening except for the regen light comes on the dash and the soot indicator on the LCD display starts slowly dropping bars.
Because he does quite a bit of shredding, he's never had to do a manual or forced regen but from what I understand, when the soot display is full, you will need to park the tractor and set the throttle at ~2000+ rpm and press a manual regen button on the dash. Supposed to take it 15-20 min to completely clean the DPF. I think I remember the dealer saying it sounds an alarm and loses power if you try running it with a DPF that needs regen.
Had no problems with any error codes or anything else with 300+ hrs. on this tractor.

That's good to know, 300 hrs with zero issues puts points on my board. I've noticed reading about the kubota tier 4 that running at high RPMs and limiting idling was a must do to keep the exhaust temps up. One person taking the lead on obtaining all information on the new motors emailed kubota and asked them if was ok to shut the tractor off, and start back up soon after. They said it was fine to do it....which is the exact opposite of what everyone has always been taught about diesel motors.
I'll stop comparing apples to oranges now but it's the only manufacture I've been following lol.
If I may suggest for you owners of the tier 4....you may want to start a new thread to keep track of operating conditions vs regen experiences with your tractors. It would act as a good reference to compare outside temp, what you were doing with the tractor, and how it affected the filter system compared to other owners.
