Where can I find a straight draw bar?

Picked up a used baler and with the draw bar flipped over to the "low" setting it is too low. When I flip it over to the "high" setting the baler is level but I get driveline interference with the draw bar. I think with some adjustments on the baler hitch in combination with a straight bar , I'll be good.

It should be easy enough to fabricate, draw bar low then metal bracket bolted to it with ball at right height.

I would imagine you can find just about any type drawbar you need at Messicks.com. Thank goodness - I got and kept the one with my 2009 Kubota M6040.

Don't be overly shocked when you see the price. I would guess somewhere between - $140 to $150.

And unless you wrangle free shipping - mine is 1.25" thick x 2.75"wide x 22"long and weighs right around 24#.

Might be better off and cheaper to get just the piece of stock the diameter you need and go from there.

Yes - starting with a piece of stock that is 1.25" thick by whatever other dimensions you need may be a cheaper way to go. PROVIDED - you have a pretty hefty drill press to drill the holes you will need. I know I would not try drilling a 1" diameter hole thru 1.25" thick stock with my drill press. My draw bar has four holes - two are 1" and two are 0.75". That a pretty gritty task for the normal home drill press.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think by looking at the baler hitch you could tell how strong you need to fabricate. I'm thinking the draw bar is probably way overkill in strength, so maybe a section of, say, 3" square bolted to draw bar grade 8 bolts ball in middle would be plenty strong enough.
Or maybe simply a stack of 1/2" x 3" flat steel bars...easy to drill.

I have a local steel/fab shop close by that I use for things of this nature. Maybe you have one around you could buy the stock from and have them drill them for you?

My local TSC (Tractor Supply Company) has several variants on generic, straight drawbars in inventory.

One size for subcompacts and larger ones for compact tractors.

TSC has Cat II drawbars for $70 and Cat I for $35. They also sell drawbar locks (keeps the drawbar from spinning if you put a ball hitch on it for instance). That is much cheaper than you could buy the bar stock, machine off the ends and drill all the holes.

I believe he wants a draw bar that slides in under the tractor, not one for the three point.

Most commonly referred to as a swinging draw bar.

Op search for swing draw bar , you should come up with plenty of hits, just have to compare dimensions to what you have now.

Keep in mind that the drawbar length from the first u-joint to the pin and from the pin to the u-joint on the baler needs to be equal. That being said, is it possible to flip your drawbar end for end and get the proper height ? That may mean another hold in the bar to contain the tractor pin, but it may be possible to adapt it.
