deereman: I can't count the number of times I've quoted that poem when I've dealt with people that are full of themselves.

Don't leave us in suspense! What is the middle name you don't like?
 Not going to pass it on. In a moment of bad judgment. We passed the name onto our youngest son. He is RonJHall jr. Poor kid.

I know a fellow with a first name that starts with a "J" who never uses his first name; just uses the initials of J.D. In his case, the first name is Joyce. I also had a friend who died 4 years ago whose first name started with a "B" and he would never tell anyone what it stood for, but after knowing him for quite a few years, I learned that his first name was "Bernice".

Of course, I've always used my first name, but I sure did get kidded a lot about it when I was a kid. I got my first name from my maternal grandfather and never knew how he got it.

I work with a fellow whose first name is Bernice. He goes by Nick. However, to look up his name in our email directory, you have to know it's Bernice because that's how it is listed.

My middle name is Deward. I've only met one other person with that name and it was that poor fellow's first name. All my life, well meaning people have thought it was a typo on paperwork and changed the name to Edward, thinking they were doing me a favor. Combine that with my real first name being Jimmie and you can see why I just use Jim.

I had a supervisor in a previous life of mine who went by Bo. He refused to tell anybody what is was short for, just that it's nickname and that is what he wanted to be called. After awhile, another supervisor pulled his file and found out his birth name was Bobo.

We named my younger son Benedict. He 's never complained but then he is somewhat eccentric. Any way, he spent this summer in France where Benedicte is a girl's name, so he was billeted with houseful of girls. I think he had a great time

I have always wondered where members come up with there TBN names like,
N80, Soundguy, mars1952, SkyPup, 61 flattop, RaT, Twinwillows, Houndstooth, etc.
Some members use their real first names or initials.

I thought it would be interesting to find out how you came up with the name you use on TBN.

With me...the property we are building our house on was owned 100+ years ago by a man whos daughter married someone with the last name Hunter. 50 + years ago Mr. Hunter left this property to his son who lived several states away and thus sold it and we aquired. It was alwasy referred to as "the Hunter place" by everyone. Since we are building our house on the ridge above the river bottom we starting reffering to it as Hunter Ridge. And since we are trying to get a pick-your-own farm and greenhouse/nursery business established in the next few years we started calling it HunterRidge Farm.

My wife likes the name but I would like to change it once we get to the point of having letterhead, web site, etc up and running. So with that in mind we will most likely always be known as HunterRidge Farms.

I don't know if anyone else is interested but I would like to know how you came up with the name.
