Where do you guys buy hardware.

I went to Tractor Supply this evening to buy some grade 8 bolts and other such hardware. Bins were a mess. Wrong parts in wrong bins. Empty bins, etc. Very frustrating. Lowes was next door. Exact same problem. Left both places without the hardware I needed.

Where do you guys buy high grade hardware? Any online resources?

I love McMaster Carr but you often have to buy a larger volume of fasteners than you need and high grade hardware can be expensive. I did find out that we have a Fastenal store here nearby. Pretty much banker's hours but according to their website the local store has a good selection. I'm still not sure what their wholesale/retail thing is. All of the products on their website say "Wholesale" just above the price. So not sure you can walk into the store and buy individual pieces off the shelf but I'll drop by there sometime and see.

I am in Rock Hill. Is that in Newport? I'll look into. Have seen it before but assumed it was a wholesale facility.

I did some Google searches on Fastenal. Sounds like some stores sell retail and some don't.

I've experienced the same problems with Tractor Supply. As a result, I try to keep a selection of their smaller nuts, bolts, and washers on hand, refilling my parts drawers when the right sizes are available. I prefer to buy nuts and bolts there, by the pound, rather than counting and listing everything at Lowes.

But they've got just about everything, and the company I used to work for had a 40% discount on fasteners at Fastenal (unfortunately, that program ended).

Was told Sunday by two 'big box' stores in Corpus Christi that they were out of the N95 masks and probably couldn't find any within 100 miles of Corpus. Went to McCoys Store Locator in Corpus and they had a good supply. Just gotta know where to go.
