I was wondering what happens that folks just quit posting. You can go back about 10 pages on any forum, and there will be folks that posted regular for awhile with good ideas, suggestions, projects, etc., then poof!! nothing from them anymore.

That makes sense. I forget there are folks from all over U.S. and world looking and posting here. I was reading a while ago about guy named Milkman that used to post projects and stuff a lot. He was supposed to be having shoulder surgery or something (that may be why he dropped out for awhile). Just wondering how surgery went and any new projects coming up. You folks up north have my respect. I don't see how you survive. But I probably have a view of it being snowed in all the time up there, which probably isn't the case. My dad used to be an over the road truck driver, and he thought it was funny how everyone outside of Texas thought we all still rode horses and such (this was about 30 yrs ago). Good luck with your tractor hunt.

There is more to life than just TBN.

It's a seasonal thing. Just about all tractor related websites slow this time of the year. Summer's over for the most part. The farmers are in the fields when weather permits. Those who don't farm are finishing up summer chores and have just lost interest for now. About Christmas time, things start to pick back up when cabin fever starts setting in.

That, and on any website there's a turnover in people every so often. The core group stays, but people come on looking for answers, get hooked, spend a while on the site, get tired of it, and go elsewhere.

It'll be back to normal before you know it, with a new round of "how big of a mower can I use on my___________?" questions

As Andy Griffith used to say - "I'M RIGHT CHEER!"

We are remodelling our whole first floor and ALL of my free time has been taken up with that over the last month or so. We ordered custom cabinets from an Amish cabinet maker and after they get installed (hopefully within the next two weeks), I should be able to get back to working on fun stuff. I getting real tired of doing molding, painting furniture moving and drywall  Yes, I actually had to do some drywall work this past weekend, I tried to trade my first born male child in exchange for this particular service, but since he is now 25 and has a wife and a new daughter, nobody seemed too interested - I thought it would have been a fair trade.

I have a pallet forks project sitting outside the barn in pieces that I haven't even had time to take pictures of to post and I haven't had time to get back to the scrap yard to take some pics that I promissed you guys.

Oh, and it would be nice to actually have some time to plunk my butt in the tractor seat too!

Hey BTDT: You make me laugh when you said people thought everyopne in Texas rode hosres about 30 years ago.

Well, back in the late 70s some distant relatives chose to visit us in San Angelo. Had to go fetch them from Dallas and drive them down old 67. Sure enough - after a while one of them asked where all the cowboys on horses were.

Another said he could see farther and see less than any place he had ever visited.

Good laugh this morning here in the cold northeast. And, yes - we are putting everything away for the winter. That is what I must do today - last of the machinery gets shots of Stabile and it all is put either inside or under cover (tarps). Tractor lives in the garage - it is part of the snow fighting system here at the bottom of the mountain.

Enjoy Texas - we nearly moved back a few years ago. Might still if the winters get to be more than I can tolerate anymore.

Some folks come here to get answers. They get those answers, and move on.

Some folks come here to get answers. They get those answers, and find they can give some answers to other's questions as well. They stay around learning and teaching and enjoying the relationships that they may strike up with others, etc.. I think that applies to most folks at TBN.

Some folks find they spend way too much time on internet discussion boards. It starts affecting the other aspects of their lives. They realize this and make the decision to give up internet discussion boards to take care of more important things in their lives, like family, business and life in general.

And, of course, some folks just get a bee in their bonnet at someone or something and take their ball and go home.

That is the way it is in any community, whether it be your home town or an electronic community like this one. People come. People go. Some folks stay their entire lives. That's the way life works.

There's also a few hecklers that just like to stir up the pot so to speak. These folks are either eliminated, driven away, or just completely ignored.

Did you know that this site actually allows you to ignore all the posts of those that you may choose? It works very well too.

Can you hear me now? No, maybe I'm on the list too.
