Great thread, a real interesting read with a good ending, (apart from the "bible thumping" bit).

One thing still bugs me. I agree with suncoast regarding the spatter. Regardless if its a farm implement or a show car, it should have been cleaned up prior to painting. I understand Pat is trying to build these hitch's down to a price, which is tough in the current climate, but 30 seconds in front of a wire wheel or flap disc with each piece would go a long way in improving the finish.

Even though the welds are nice, when I see spatter, I think sloppy workmanship.
I'm sorry but thats the way I am, and more importantly, one of the factors that decides wether I take out my check book or not.

Take it as you wish.

Well then, maybe you should try "The Good Book", sir...it is the book where all fairness originates.

But yes, I am a God-fearing man who believes the bible. And Suncoast did call the name of the Lord in his post (without you commenting) so he sort of opened himself up to a scripture quote or 2.

I wish I had a nickle for every Christian who told me I'd end up in a different place than he would. Or every one who thought it was OK to steal from his employer or call in sick with a lie.
Like many of these type folks that I've encountered, you appear to believe that the Bible applies to the rest of us but not to yourself.
Possibly it might behoove you to read Matthew 7, verse 2 again. You seem to have done a pretty good job of judging suncoast and his motives, and I assume without even knowing him....

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...."

I'm done witrh this thread... when the "holier than thou" types come out, there is no room for a rational discussion... and I have little desire to argue.

Wow, seems you judged me just like I did Suncoast...and you are a bible-thumping scripture quoter too.

But you are right, I should have went to Suncoast before I went to the board, that was very hypocritical of me! But that's one of the things that the bible makes sure is clear, Romans 3:23 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

I guess we all have more in common that we think huh;)

And yes, there are plenty of forums to debate religion without us dragging this on here. So I'm done on this thread too.

Save your sanctimonious BS for your Sunday crowd. He got MUCH less than he expected and told us about it and in doing so you feel he is fair game for your lecture? Who the heck elected you to pass judgement?

As I see it though, you have that choice, and if you buy the PEC system advertised here, you will recieve the premium product without weld splatter, with a more finished appearance etc, but, you will pay the premium price.

Too me, it is kind of buying an economy car, wanting the economy price and the good deal, but then complaining that it does not have the fit and finish of the Rolls Royce.

Now, as to the pin not going through, that would not be acceptable by anybodies standard, but sounds too me like everyone in the supply chain offered to make it right as soon as they heard about it. To be honest, I don't think much more can be done past that.

Suncoast, I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction, sounds like you have, I for one, for our applications really love the PECS that I have.

PatG, Love your product, and can see the logic of the different levels if you will, sounds like a good business decision to me, and I am sure the same customer service will keep folks coming back, even with the occassional bump in the road.
