Kubota M7060 HDC12 with cab. The OEM horn is functional but not practical - scooter horns are louder. I picked up an 18" trumpet air horn with 150db to replace. Initially, I thought I was just going to mount in vicinity of where OEM horn is on front of engine hood. But for anyone who is familiar with this model, there's not a lot of room there for a horn this big plus the compressor.

Anyone else have pics of something similar they have done or have ideas how or where to mount?

Some of the other considerations...
Wanted to mount as close to OEM location as possible to tap into wire harness with minimal splicing and because unit would have some weather protection. Don't want to mount on the cab because of risk of ripping it off with overhead obstacles like trees on my property. Don't want to mount under because of similar risk of ripping it off, catching on brush or downed limbs, etc. Thought about mounting to outside front of engine cover but not crazy about idea of drilling holes in the hood.

Why? not a very practical hole for most uses.
I have been looking for a milder sounding one, that can give a pleasant hello, or excuse me need to get thru.
Not some irritating extremely loud obnoxious thing, especially one that would frighten any cows I'm trying to drive among.

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't realize I needed to justify the need for a louder horn or I would have included that in the original post. My apologies.

The need for a louder horn is for getting the attention of non-bovine animals and humans in and around my barn and work areas where accidents can occur. I understand your concern about frightening cattle. I anticipate no or extremely low use of the new horn in my pastures or around my livestock. The cattle I drive among are actually pretty respectful and naturally move from me without the need for audio incentive.

Thanks again for the quick reply.

You have no need to justify it.
Our cows tend to flock around a tractor as we haul feed wagons into and out of the feed lots,
they can be quite aggravating at times.
If the humans need that much horn to get out of the way have at it.
Non bovine animals to me could be poultry and I do not have a lot of experience with them,
other then geese and ducks that a neighbor used to slow down traffic.
Good luck

I would mount it under the hood, I would bet there is less than 2dB difference at 100 feet,,,

Not another area to protect it other than under the hood. How loud your horn is your decision but I would think you might find a smaller electric horn that could suit your needs. Yep, my mind went to the top of cab when first read it. lol

I'm sure the first time you come up behind someone and blow that horn, they will certainly tell you where to put it:)

I have a set of big-truck horns I hook up to my shop air compressor to get the attention of the neighbor. They live 1/4 mile away!

Very similar to the Stebel Nautilus horn. This is a popular horn with motorcyclists due to it's compact size and ease of installation. LINK

They probably all come off same line ... in China.

Must ask, why do you need to notify your neighbor who lives a mile away with a horn?

That's SOME KIND OF A HORN you have there bensonjv! That should knock the bark off of the trees - or the hair off of any animals within a quarter of a mile. My SO has one on her Harley. She just got real tired of automobile drivers either not seeing her, or just simply wanting to be ugly.

I just put a Fiamm 80S on my golf cart. It is LOUD. And cheap; about $12. Small enough to mount anywhere. ...just a thought, keep the air horn for your pickup and and pickup a cheap throw-away Fiamm for the tractor.

Thanks. Familiar with these (I ride). Form factor and space limitations under the hood are driving toward this being a more practical option.
