I've been fiddling with idea of adding a compact tractor with loader, 4wd. And i'm like most people kinda confused so i ask.

I primarly need around 30hp compact tractor for lifting things around shop like truck beds, engines, Axles..approx 1000-1500 lb on loader. And able to do 5' brush hog on 3point
Aside to assiting my hobby also will be used fill in work and maintain driveway

Dont want to spend big money for new, Used is my medium what would be a good used model in each of these manuf
J/D, N/H, Kubota

I'm close to the dealers listed

OK let me rephrase my original post... I'm confusing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm looking for a website that has older model specs on tractors and their various implements.. I know of tractordata.com but cant get specific info on loader's. Tried the equip home sites with no results.

Would like to investigate used kubota,J/D,Ford-N/H...Before i shell out some good money that wont fit bill.

Right now i have to go my local dealers and ask..They have been nice but would like to save running.

I'm not foreign to farmtractors have had a few older models
(Farmall cub,jubilee,J/D 820)but these newer compacts are really like splitting hairs.

Honestly I don't know how to help you find specs on an older tractor unless the manufacturer still allows access to the product manuals on their website. What I do know is that if you want to lift 1500# then there is no modern 30 HP tractor that can do that that I am aware of and I suspect that you'd be hard pressed to find an older tractor in that hp range that would do it either.

There has been a lot of discussion in a couple forums regarding the "real life" capacity of most loaders and how some of the marketing departments can manipulate the public's perception of what the loaders can actually lift.

You may want to read this thread, it starts off talking about bucket size and capacity but it transitions into a thread about capacity ratings and how to read them: Bucket Capacity versus Real Capacity

Thanks Yall

You have to ask questions to get answer's and i was thinking i would be taxing a 30hp range to call up 1500# on FEL and keep back wheels on ground.

I weighed a peice that i lift quite often and it was 880#.

I went to the Tisco site that is pretty nice...Thanks

Again i'm just like all other hardworking guys justifying my dollar, I may just pick up a few gas clunker tractors and refurbish for sale next spring then get what i need in the more newer range but still used... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Thomas
