My BH stays on a lot. I aften want to use the tractor to pull something, It was a Van, then it was pulling trees down, now it's pulling a stump again.

Where do you hook to the tractor when the BH is on?

When I was pulling trees down with ropes and chains I went thru the holes in the BH subframe. This pull was only a medium pull so I just looped it on the BH base.

I do like you did, keeping the hitch point(s) low and near attaching points. To me that is the safest for both operator, bystanders and the equipment.

You could weld the suitable clevis hook to the back of the bucket.

Don't even think of pulling with the bucket. There is no relief valve in the dipper stick hydralic circut to prevent overloading the dippper stick. A darn good way to bend a cylinder rod or worse.

Then why could you not bend it when digging then?

When digging, the system presure relief valve will prevent overloading the hydralic circut. When pulling with the tractor, hooked to the bucket, you do not have the protection of any relief valves.

Ron I just was not thinking that through. It would be OK if you were using the backhoe dipper to do the pulling if you had your stabilizers down.

I welded a "D ring" to the back of the bucket and keep a clevis with a chain hook on it under the seat when I need it. The D ring stays flat when digging and is pritty much out of the way all the time,,

I use the draw bar.
I don't know of a better solution, but if you have one I would be interested.

I can't get to my drawbar when the back hoe is on. I just pull from the front whenever the hoe is on the tractor. I have a spot to hook on the frame up front.
