I'm definitely going to want a set of forks.

So, is the consensus so far to go with a NH FEL?

I am reminded of a member we have not heard from in a long time. His tag name was Mosey and he bought a BH loader for his New Holland TC29. It turned into a nightmare for him because the loader was too heavy and his tractor did not handle it well. I'm not sure of all the details, but I can say that the loader was recommended by his dealer. Even so, Mosey (Danny) had a terrible time trying to get his tractor like he wanted it.

So, my answer to you about the 14LA loader is that I can very safely recommend that loader. I am sure of its performance with your tractor and that it will not hurt the value of your tractor or cause any warranty issues. Also, the 14LA is made very well with a very strong cross-beam rather than just a welded tube. If you are considering SuperSteer, then I definitely would recommend the 15LA loader and no others. The 15LA is designed around the unique SuperSteer front end and will not interfere.

There are lots of people who like Woods or Bradco or others. I'm not saying that those are bad choices. They may be even better. But, I do know that the 14LA is very nice loader with a good load capacity and it is designed exclusively for your tractor. That makes it my number one recommendation.

I guess the one thing I didn't mention was that this is an 01 model.

Does the curved armed loader have the same visibly advantages with my earlier model front end as the newer boomers?

can the newer curved arm loaders fit on the older models?

I have the 7308 loader on my 2003 TC33D and have been happy with it

Fixer,

There's a whole thread on curved vs conventional loaders

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/buying-pricing-comparisons/90820-opinions-loaders-curved-vs-coventional.html?highlight=curved+front+loaders

Also, here's a photo from that same thread. I think the style of hood as I stated earlier will have as much influence on visibility as the loader. This photo is from that thread and shows what I mean.

HEY HOW DID MY DAUGHTER GET IN YOUR PHOTO :D

Well I guess that was originally my photo, it is probably 2+ years old. :)

One thing you will notice with the NH is that you can see the bucket corners. You absolulely cannot see the corners on the Kubota. When working up tight against a fence, your wife's prize rose bushus, or building, it is really nice to see the edges of your bucket!

There are 2 key points to visibility. Over the hood and at the bucket edges. The NH hood, on all the new style Boomers (since at least 2000) is sloped. You will get good visibility over the hood with either style of loader arms. However you will only get good visibility of the bucket edges/corners with the curved loader arms.

Should have given you credit for the photo Bob. I thought it was a great visual illustration of the difference in the older and new style tractors. Nice job. Thanks.

It's probably a moot point, but if you plan to use the tractor without the loader a lot, pay some attention to how easy it is to take the thing off and put it back on. My DX29 with the LX114 loader requires a hard level surface for easier removal and reattachment. I don't know how easy the after market items are to put on and off, but Deere loaders in this size are way simpler and quicker than the CNH when it comes to removing from the tractor and putting them back, so not all loaders are created equal in this respect.

Like anything else with tractors, figure out your priorities before you start writing a check.

Oops! That's a pretty big oversight in this case. The '01 TC33 cannot use the 14LA loader. It only uses the 7308. You may be forced to go with a non-OEM loader as a retrofit.

Well, just got back from the NH dealer. He had a Bushhog 1846QT loader and a 7308 loader installed, sitting side by side. The Bushhog loader is made so that the hydraulics (& controls) are attached to the loader, when the loader is removed so are the hydraulics. A down side is you can't get on and off the tractor on the RH side, the hydraulics stick out too far, and I'm a skinny guy!
The other thing is that the Bushhog has a lower lift & height rating. It looks downright skimpy compared to the 4308 NH loader. The NH loader's controls & hydraulics stay with the tractor, so you can mount other hydraulically operated stuff off the front?? I'd don't know how much advantage this would be to me. The really nice thing is how compact the controls are and it doesn't block the RH side. The salesman said that the new curved boom loaders do not fit well on my earlier boomer. He said the new boomers were strengthen where the boom mounts to handle the extra load the curved loader exerts on the mount.
Also, no quick attach bucket for the Bushhog, but one can be had on the 4308 for an additional $450.
Prices are:
Bushhog 1846QT loader: 2500 (installed)
NH 7308 Loader: 3500 (installed) & 450 for quick attach bucket.

One other thing to mention...The parts guy said that factory NH mounting brackets for earlier Boomers have been discontinued and they only had a few left...

I have the 7308 on the TC 29; no problems; The controls on the right fender area is very operator friendly; when useing the loader for extended times; it is much more comfortable resting your arm on fender, than extending it to the controls constantly. Test both.
